What's to understand? Lebannon committed an act of war against Israel at a time when it was a spectacularly bad idea to do so. They are being made an example of. If they have even an ounce of common sense, they will immediately turn over their hostages, apologize and ask for peace with Israel. I don't see them doing this. Likely, Israel is going to chop them into little pieces until it finds its men, alive or dead. If dead, they will probably crush Lebannon and may execute its government (it's what I would do). If alive, they will simply destroy their military and create a DMZ within that country.

I don't think people quite understand what is going on here. The combined muslim nations have decided to declare war on Israel. Israel has decided to make sure its the last war they ever engage in.

I'd say the United States is about to go to war with Iran sometime in the next couple of weeks. Iran will attack Israel and the United States is bound by our defense treatises with Israel to intervene. Since we have a rather large standing army on the border with Iran, at the moment, we will likely crush Iran within a matter of days. I'd say their nuclear weapons ambitions are finished, not to mention the rule of the mullahs.

Perhaps if the situation was Israel unequivocally destroying ONLY Hamas and Hezbollah...then I'd even volunteer (even if I am not Israeli) to help them send each and every terrorist back to Satan where they belong.
But... I disagree with the bombing of innocent Palestinians and Lebanese (accidental or not rarely matters anymore). C'mon, whatever happened to sniper rifles, assasinations (ala "Munich") and Delta Force-type operations? Tanks, missiles and planes belong in the desert battlefields, not in the cities. The Lebanese government didnt cause this madness, Hezbollah did (though since they are in the the Lebanese Gov't, Israel seems to think otherwise). I am behind Israel defending herself and her citizens 100% but I am also against stupid and imprudent military action 100% as well.
To Frozen Flame...I am well aware of Israel's own transgressions...but that does not excuse these terrorists. You think the Palestinians and Lebanese are the only ones who suffer? How about the Israelis who suffer rocket attacks and suicide attacks almost daily? Obviously...you dont care! Did you really think that those prisoners are innocent...hahahaha you are more naive than I thought. And btw the Israelis were trying to work for peace by giving the Palestinians a home (note the Gaza turnover to Palestine on August of 2005) before this madness began.

Anyone who says "give diplomacy a chance" has no clue what they're talking about and should be informed before opening the proverbial mouth. Negotiations do not work with islamo-fascist's.
Godspeed to Israel and I back them all the way. And for those of you who don't know history ,war creates peace..so check it out. Iran is behind this and by Monday we will see the beginning of Eziekiel 38:39, study up Christians and Jews. We are living in extraordinary times in which the the Bible has alot to say. God bless Israel.

I Resent, Disrespect, Despise, & Rebuke Israel for their reactions and their actions against Lebannon, Palestine and the United States in the past 2-weeks, and from now on!

Hezbollah who're fashionable in Lebanon fired rockets at Israel first. The airport became hit because guns are flown in from Iran once 1 / 4 on a 747, and Lebanon airport is the only close airport that could help this plane.

I think it is the last thing the region needs, diplomacy was not even considered, once again Israel is showing their bigheadedness.

The attacks on Israel were the work of a guerrilla group, not the actual country of Lebanon, to retaliate against the country for something a terrorist group did is despicable.

War can never lead to peace!

#1: Lebanon is housing Hezbollah, whether intentional or unintentional

#2: Israel soldiers were kidnapped, of course Israel will respond with force. Terrorists... duuuuh

#3: Surrounded by enemies, you'd want to make a show of someone. Show them what you'll do to protect yourself, and the others will be a bit more wary about coming after you. Show of Force.

#4: They have a right to do what's necessary to get their soldiers and defend themselves.

I support Israel fully and unconditionally.

Many who have read or lived history would side with the Israelis
although they commit excesses every now and then...
Simply,Arabs being totally defeated by the Israelis in four wars, although boasting that they were winning until the very end, have resorted
to terrorism and have the temerity(Hamas) to call it war...Israelis
defend themselves and what they occupied by wright of conquest and for reasons of security by applying rules of International Law of Conflict like Retaliatory Action or Hot Persuit
If Libanese don't like it they should guard their border with Israel
and stop terrorist infiltrations or actions against the state of Israel
or if they cannot, ask the International community to do it for them.

I fully support their decision. I read news from each of the countries involved on a regular basis. From what I read, Israel pretty much minds its own business. Israel is a small fish surrounded by some pretty nasty fisherman fishing with big sticks of dynamite. Every country should care about their citizens that much.

It's about fraking time!!! Finally, Israel stands up to the gutless goyim dissidents in its own inner sanctums, the shamelessly pro-Palestinian rats that populate the Bush administration (am I the only one who's noticed just how bad he is at finding good help?), and the terrorists and terrorist supporters who surround her. Way to go!
