A guy i've been seeing lately was sick, so i msg him on his handphone last nite to check how he was, but he never reply me. I decided to go online and just as i suspected, i found he was online again chatting (probably with gals?) And this morning, he sent me a text saying he went to bed early that's why never reply my text last nite. I was seething with anger cos apparently he was lying. And we are supposed to meet tonite, but the thought of him lying to me makes me sick, just don't feel like going out with him. Am i being petty?

I won't say you are petty. Probably angry is a better word to describe how you feel. You are angry coz your guy actually lies to you and not frank with you. But as couples both of you should also have some private time of your own. If you try to control the each other too much it will backfired instead.
Maybe you can clarify things with your guys tonite when U meet him. Let him know how you feel when you found out that he is cheating you.

no, you are not being petty.
however, when it comes to relationships. there are no easy answers. on line chatting can be addictive, and addictive things often disrupt normal life. that's basically what happened here. just how big a problem this is though, depends on what exactly does he do when he is chatting on line. some guys actually just talk and don't get personal, while others flirt but don't go out with girls after wards, still there are guys that chat to get laid.... a lot of them. to find out, simply sign in under another name.
and there is always that possibility that he is not that into you. I know this phrase has been used to death. but, it does ring true in a lot of cases.

there are rules and protocols
everyone knows them
but no everyone obeys
so find some one who knows the rules
and respects them
have that as you guy "filter"
those who do not adhere to the rule
get dumped
no emotions attached
do not get angry
just think of it as a simple business deal
and you'll do fine

It's ok to be upset, but you must realize that it looks as though you don't trust him, even if in this case you might be right in not trusting him. If you feel as though you cannot trust him, why continue with him anyway? Trust is the greatest foundation of any relationship, and you can't get by without it.

no! if you're going out with him and he's lying to you, then maybe he isnt the best thing for you! i would want a guy who i could trust... because if i found out that my guy was lying to me, i would be mad and i probably couldnt trust him for a while...
i would suggest maybe talking to him about that... maybe his sibling or parent was on his computer signed into his messenger? it could just be a misunderstanding... but talk to him about it and see what he says... maybe he really is telling you the truth!
