I was born in TX, and I live in TX now, but I spent most of my life out of this state.
I don't think Texans in general are different than everyone...
I think it all depends where you go.
TX is so big, and there are many cultural differences within the state.
Most people I know here (including myself) don't have an accent. A lot of them are racist, and most of them are Republican...that's all I can say.

I was raised Texas and have recently moved to Oklahoma and yes I do think there is a difference! Texans are a loud and rough group of but if you ever have a Texan as a friend you have a friend for life! They hold their family in the highest regards and will fight you at a drop of a hat if you mess with them! All in all Texan are really good people if you do not cross them! I am not saying that people in Oklahoma don't have the same characteristics, it is just that it is in the middle of Bible Belt and it seems that people here are a little bit more judgmental! It could just be the city I live in to! But even at that, I still love it here! Oklahoma is a beautiful place to live! And a great place to raise children!

I'm a Texan...we're no different than anyone else except some of us have more of an accent than others. What's the point to this question?

They were almost their own county less than 150 years ago. Many of them are still proud of this. They have a unique culture, perhaps somewhat arrogant.

But they did hold off and an invading army while the US did nothing. Not many single states make that claim.

Texas is the fattest state in the US, they have the highest amount of obesity.

Plus they have the lowest school grades and intelligent scores in the US too. Really, there is nothing good that has come out of Texas.

Maybe just the laid back attitude, or the southern hospitality but you can find that from a lot of different places. I guess they are but everybody is different.
