My cat is one year old and on heat, she is usually really smoochy and lovable but lately she just snobs me off and growls when I pick her up, she is hardly eating and is always sleeping, there are two tom cats that were mating with her, would they have hurt her?
thank you.

It's quite possible that the toms could have hurt her. A male cat's penis is covered with barbs. When the male penetrates the female and then withdraws, the barbs scrape the walls of the vagina, causing the female to cry out (scientists still don't know if the female cries out in pain or pleasure). The scraping of the barbs is what stimulates the female cat to ovulate. If your cat was very sensitive (and she probably was, being that this was her first time), the barbs might have scratched her instead of just scraping.
Your kitty needs to see the doc. Even if the tom didn't hurt her, the fact that her behavior has changed and she isn't eating well is a clue that something is not right.

If a cat is over one year in age, is in heat, and then has mated with a tom cat, she will most likely be pregnant. Hence her being "protective" of her body. Does she growl when you pick her up by the tummy? That could be why. The same thing happened to my cat Thunder. She was the sweetest thing, until she got pregnant. And was mean the whole time.

Hurt her, no. Knocked her up, yes. Pregnancy completely changed my females personality---which saved her life!! She's in heat again, and is the most sweet, lovable cat there is. Either being in heat wore her out, or you are going to have kittens. Warning, a lot of pregnant cats do not like being picked up

Actually, tom cats have small, backward-pointing spines on their penises which rake the walls of the female's vagina during withdrawl (this is necessary for ovulation to begin). It may cause the female minor pain (in which case she'll turn around & beat the snot out of him), but not lasting pain. Also, kittens in a single litter may have different fathers if she has mated with multiple toms.
If your cat is normally nice & is mean now she may be pregnant. One of my cats is normally a complete pain in the @ss, but when she got pregnant, she couldn't get enough attention.

She could be pregnant, in which case the fullness in her belly could make her uncomfortable. If you're sure she was in heat recently, one of the tomcats may have given her a 'love bite' that could still be sore - but that would mostly affect the neck area. If she's a couple weeks into pregnancy, the hormone shifts could be making her grumpy.

She might be pregnant, but if she is hardly eating I'd have her checked by a vet. My cats always ate really well during pregnancy.

Hormones... Queens in heat can have very different dispositions...
This is more likely to happen if she is pregnant but then she wouldn't be in heat would she...
