Not so sure if him coming to your house is a good idea. I am open to the idea of internet dating, but you truly don't know your boyfriend yet and you may not want him in such a personal space. In any case, I would meet in a public area - like a restaurant. If he isn't against the idea of meeting your parents, then maybe they can be at the restaurant when he first gets there. That way, you please them AND you know for a fact that other people know what your boyfriend looks like in real life. I'm just nervous for you - there are so many horror stories. But, good luck with everything. I hope he really is the man of your dreams.

Not weird at all...an excellent idea. I have two sons dating girls they met via the net. My oldest is talking marriage, she's been here twice, he down to see her once. She's a sweetheart.
The second, we've not yet met although we've been speaking/emailing the mom and she seems very nice. The girl and my son talk non stop...about what I'm not certain but the ear is to the phone continually when he's not on the computer.
He flies down later this month to stay for a month!
Provided your parents are okay with him...then you can pretty well judge as well. It's a good idea to meet and I think you are wise to do so with your family...you can tell a lot by a guy and how he acts around mom and dad :)
Good luck with this

You've never met him.. people can SAY anything. Before he gets on the plane, check out his background on the internet for your own safety. This is easy and done for a nominal expense. You need date of birth, first and last name.
Meeting the parents is great but perhaps the meeting should be at a neutral place. I'm sure it seems extreme but better safe than sorry.
Good Luck!

Why don't you ask him if he is comfortable with this? Sometimes the 'meeting of the parents' can be nerve wracking for a new relationship. Just make sure to meet him somewhere public..no matter how much you have talked to him you never really know till you meet them. Be safe and good luck.

At 25, I think you're too old to have your date meet your parents at the first face-to-face. This is simply my personal opinion. If I were the guy, I would be wondering why I'm meeting your parents. It would raise concerns/questions in my mind about you. (Sorry, no offense.)
If you are concerned about safety, (and that's very reasonable), you should make sure your parents (or others) are aware of what you're doing, who you're with, where you'll be, etc. You could make sure he knows others are aware if you're deeply concerned.

I say it's a good idea. Not to mention, it's kind of common courtesy too, to finally bring your boyfriend to meet your parents. I'm still waiting for mine to fly down so I can see him and have him meet my own parents.

who is only 25? Your still a baby. He is a man. I don't know,
I just feel you should be dating boys your own age.Twentys.
I smell trouble.

BE VERY CAREFUL! NEVER invite someone you know only from the Internet to your home. Invite him to meet you and your parents at a nice restaurant and if he stays more than one day, have him rent a hotel and you both go to PUBLIC places until you get to know him.

I WOULD NOT -- UNDER ANY TERMS - go meet a man on HIS TURF. You really don't know anything about him yet... Do you actually know his background, etc. Do you know if he has a prior (or current) criminal record? If you want to meet - and being a FEMALE - you should do it on YOUR TURF. Protect yourself. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Don't you want to check him out before you bring him to your par;ents? Go somewhere in a PUBLIC SETTING.

Yeah, better let some else get a good description of him, just in case you don't come back or something. Internet people are crazy liars about themselves.
