D. everyday people

While the Renaissance did include many improvements and disoveries in the fields of medicine, historical documents and a new way to consider religion, humanism was the greatest movement to emerge. People became more interested in the actual habits of people, as opposed to what was "expected" of them by the Divine. In this way, a new perception of politics emerged and the importance of religion began to take a side seat. That is not to say that God became any less important, but He was no longer the ONLY important factor in considering the world and its inhabitants.
