I have thick, coarse hair..and it's curly too. I dont shampoo it every day because i know that would strip the hair of its natural oils, so instead i condition it on most days. I also use a deep conditioner every week and I do use leave-in conditioner. My hair still doesnt feel very soft after it's dried though and i'm wondering why. I do use mousse to style my hair and i thought maybe it was drying out my hair, but i'm not sure. Can someone please tell me how I can keep my curly hair soft, so it doesnt have that somewhat rough feeling when i touch it?

Care for dry hair:
Dry hair needs extra care since it easily gets split ends and looks listless. For dry hair care do the following:

1. Always use a good conditioner after applying shampoo and washing your hair.
2. Let your hair dry naturally and even if you do use a blower, dry your hair on low heat.
3. Before shampooing your hair apply oil thoroughly to your hair and keep it for 1 hour and then wash.
4. Wash your hair as infrequently as possible, perhaps once in 4 days and use a mild shampoo.
5. Don't brush your hair out, just comb it gently.

hi!
well u might think that this method is very primitive, but it is also very natural, safe and will not harm your hair in the long run.And best of all u don't have to spend a lot of time on conditioner ,etc
1)apply yogurt to your hair 1hr before you take a shower or
2)mix a little honey to your hair oil and apply it,wash went ever suitable!
3)after you are done washing, add a small cap of vinegar to 1 liter of water and give a final rinse to your hair, believe me this will give your hair an intense shine with no odor!

You can try any of these but the 1st one is the best!!!!
good luck

Use a leave-in conditioner. Spritz your hair (wet or damp) with Dove Leave-In Repleneshing Mist Sheer Moisture before styling it. It leaves your hair smoother, softer, and free of tangles and flyaways through out the day.

there's this stuff called biotene, it's almost a little oily, but doesn't make your hair look greasy. you put it in your hair after the shower, and it feels great. i was always getting split ends before my stylist gave it to me. now people are always complimenting me on my hair.
