It's all about money. The more members that can create, the more money for the church. Even to this day, you can see missionaries going to the poorest of the poor people in other countries and MAKING them accept jesus as their lord and savior, and if they don't then the missionaries won't give the "heathens" their clean water, food and life sustaining medications.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the very end of the age."
Over a billion Christians believe that this was the very last bit of advice - the final commandment - of Christ before he ascended into heaven. Is there any wonder, then, why so many people are involved with missions and are actively involved in converting the unbelieving?
In the past, this was surely done with a heavy hand (e.g., "convert or die"). I think that many modern-day missionaries respect the cultures they enter far more than the zealots of the past. Many recognize that people aren't going to convert simply because they tell them to. Rather, to quote a song, "They will know we are Christians by our love" is the operative phrase for this new breed of missionaries. "Behave in a Christian manner - helpful, compassionate, caring, selfless - and many will come to the faith by the testimony of our character and our deeds," they say.
If you discovered a cure for AIDS or cancer, your first reaction (the first reaction of any compassionate being) would be to share that news with everyone you could, especially with the sick and dying. Christians sincerely believe that they possess news that will transform lives, as well - you can't fault them for trying to spread that news as far and as wide as they can.

"and dont give me that crap about sharing the word of g-d and them needing to realize that he is the true savior. im sick of it."
Why the hell did you ask the question then if you already know what we're going to tell you?
What NEW answer would you like?
Tell ya what. YOU prove to me that evolution is true, just don't use any of that science crap, okay?
However, as you already pointed out, I wouldn't be Christian if I didn't try to shove it down your throat, so here it goes:
If you knew the cure for cancer, wouldn't you tell everyone you know? If someone didn't believe you, would that stop you? Do you have the good of mankind at heart, or are you so selfish that you would let them die in their ignorance?
If someone you loved was standing in the road and there was a truck bearing down on them at high speed, would you warn them or let them die in their ignorance? What if they said they didn't believe in trucks, even though the truth was so obvious to you? Would you live and let die?
What is the condition of your heart that this is a bad thing to try to save people's souls?

i can understand your feelings ... christians have long taken the words about "go ye out and spread the gospel" to heart... and as christians we should spread the word.. on the other hand jesus didnt mention shoving down ppls throat either ..jesus did not go door to door and beg ppl to believe ... he pretty much was " let those that hear, let them hear" ..many organized christian religions really do believe in a God that expects you to believe or else .. you are doomed... doomed ... and have done more to turn ppl away from christianity.. than any other group could.. my personal belief is that not all ppl are meant to know the truth of God love now..as a matter of fact if those christians read their bibles it tells them that the whole world is deceived... it will all get straighted out in the long run.... so christians ... just love the Father and your neighbors as best you can and quit trying to convert everyone... have faith that our Father is quite capable of handling everything without you beating ppl up for not believing as you/we do

It comes from their belief in a few things. One Jesus was the son of God and the best example of how to live. He said to go into all nations and make disciples. Therefore, evangelism is stressed by Christians.
Also, Christ taught he was the only way to God, and no one could get through except by him. So most Christians see unbelievers as bound for hell. It is the same mindset as if you see someone about to step out in front of a semi-truck. If you thought someone is going to be eternally damned if you didnt step in, you probably would say something too.

It's like they took their belief in God to the extreme. Christians should go around teaching the word and not trying to force the word. That makes it seem like that they're trying to make people change religions to be exactly like them. Everybody has a right to enjoy whatever religion they want. The same God is still being worshipped, just in different ways.

If you saw a person drowning and you had the only life per server on the beach would you just watch or would you get that preserver to the drowning man any way you can?
Also, check your facts. What cultures have been ruined by Christians converting the people to Christ (Hollywood movies don't count)?

There have been many Jewish guys going around trying to convert people, both Jews and Gentiles, to following our LORD and Saviour, Y'shua. Starting with the disciples who were Jewish, and continuing to the present day.

In the bible , followers are told to witness in faith, spread the word to every man, women and child, so that they believe and redeem thier souls, so that everyman , has a place in Heaven. They are doing the same as Jesus did...He traveled and preached the words of the almighty one, GOD.
It is your choice....I have yet to see or hear of a Christian holding someone down and making him eat a Bible.....
Plus..Jewish people are so hated in this world, it wouldn't be wise to go knocking on anyone's door....

Because these poor people have been brainwashed by a mindset which doesn't accept any alternatives ot their reality. They have taken the words of a great man...a human being who was very spiritually enlightened ...and perverted the words for their own egoic delusional cause. Jesus Christ would not be happy how Christianity has perverted his original intentions!

its not all about destroying other peoples culture. christians go to foreign lands on mission in order to spread gods word of love and peace. it is a commandment of jesus to baptize nations in the name of the father, son , and the holy spirit.
more importantly, god is very good and loving. most of the christians experience that love. it is but natural to share it with others so that these people might experience the same life fulfilling love.
