I'm 13 female and i think i might have an eating disorder. my family is bugging me to eat as i don't want to eat and my extended family, I found out is saying i'm to thin and have an eating disorder. I feel like i can't eat around certain people... I just can't let them see me eat. I always worry think of food/me being fat and stuff and i've done some reseach on the web and i fit alot of symptons for an ED. But I can't walk to my parents or any family as I'm not close to them and.. i just can't. How do i get help/find out if i actually have one or not. I'm also kind embarassed saying this incase i'm wrong and actually don't have one.

I try not to eat and try my best to restrict my intake. When I do eat i eat alone. I've looked into depression i git some criteria but i like to be with my friends... well i do at first but once i'm with them i want to get away and be alone, but it does get me out of the house so i don't have to eat. I think my weight is normal but my family always says i'm to thin when i'm not, i have tons of flabby fat on my stomach.

You sound very bright for a 13yr old. Good for you! There are lots of places now for eating disorders. Call help lines in your area until you find someone you are comfortable talking to. Thank God you realize this is a serious problem. Girls are so overly concerned about their looks when they should be improving their minds. You will be fine honey! Love yourself exactly the way you are! Good luck to you!

Do not wait to get help because you are not thin enough yet. When you are an emaciate sack of bones it will be too late -- you will already be at greater risk for breast cancer and a host of other illnesses, not to mention the possibility of death.
You sound very much like you have an ED. This may just be because you are so worried that you do have one, but YOU SHOULD NOT BE WORRYING ABOUT THESE THINGS ALONE. Discuss this with your parents. Tell them that this is what others have been saying, and that you are not sure. Ideally, you will talk to a doctor.
Remember that noone worth knowing, will ever think less of you for being concerned about your health. In this case, people who care about you brought it up first, so if this turns out to be nothing, they can feel embarassed if anyone must.
If you are still hesitant, try keeping a diary of what you eat and how much for one week. Compare it to the serving suggestions on an official food guide (I've included a link to the Canadian food guide in my sources).
I don't know how tall you are, but you are definitely still growing, and you are young enough that you should metabolize (burn off the calories that you eat) faster, so you should eat on the higher side of what is recommended.

It's a good sign that you're looking for help! Don't be discouraged if you get any unfriendly messages on this site. What I would do if I were you would be to find a professional who can help you and diagnose whether or not you have an ED. Sometimes it's easier to talk to a therapist or doctor who doesn't know you and won't judge you. It may be embarrassing, but your health is far more important than a temporary feeling of shame.

What you describe are certainly some of the symptoms of an eating disorder.
If you can't talk to your family, you could try talking to a school counselor, or visiting a hospital or primary physician. Each of those places will have the resources you need to properly diagnose, and treat, your problem.

Seek help through the phone. A doctor will NOT help you unless your parent is with you in most cases.
Call some ED help lines, look it up and you will see that there are several.
People on the phone, at these places are very supportive.

Do you feel like eating and you don't,or you don't feel like eating?Do like food?At your age it is normal to worry about weight gain, but there should be a limit of controll.I am sorry that you are not close with your parents.I mean where is your mother? At this age she should be your best friend. Please talk to someone about this before it is too late. There should be someone for you to feel comfortable to talk to.Find that person, get help.

Don't listen to what people tell you, follow your heart. Everyone that makes fun of you is just cruel. I'm not sure, but it does sound like a disorder. I used to have one, I would always spit ou my food. For me it was just a phase. You can beat it. Believe in yourself, and talk to friends, they will understand and support you. Family will help also,
good luck,
:)

if you're questioning it, and family members are talking about it, and you don't "feel" like eating you likely have an eating disorder or you may be depressed. there are other things that can contribute, but these are the most common problems. you really should go to your doctor and talk to him/her about it. they can give you the best advice about your size/weight ratio, your situation, and your feelings. good luck.
