It's pain in a bottle. A good practical joke to play on someone, is to tell them you'll have a shot with them, but have the bartender give you a shot of water. Plan on carrying them home.

If you are looking to get drunk.. than I wouldn't recommend 'Grain Alcohols' like Everclear. It can make a lot of people people pass out really quick after drinking it. I tried some grain alchohol while enjoying a day down in the dunes. I am a big guy and had a high tolerance back then... I was already plastered and they started to pass around the bottle. If you think Vodka smells like rubbing alcohol, take a whiff of the grain stuff! It was 192 proof if I remember right. I guzzled it until they ripped the bottle away (probably 2-3 shots worth) It didn't know me out and I didn't puke it up.. but I felt it alright! I crawled into my tent to pass out about an hour later and was out like a light until someone shined their 3 million candle watt latern into it... I couldn't get out of the tent fast enough.. There was still a red stain in the sand a couple days later from the jello shot I had earlier.. Ah.. the good time... :))

"Everclear" is actually a brand name. It is 95% ethanol and used for preparation of alcoholic drinks. It is dangerous to drink it straight because of alcohol poisoning. Often pictured in cartoons showing dissipated alcoholic sipping it in a gutter etc. BTW, 95% is about as "pure" as alcohol can be prepared without extracting the remaining water using an organic solvent, usually benzene. Thus, 100% ethanol is available, but even though the benzene remaining in it is only a trace amount, it is enough to bestow upon it a rather disagreeable taste and odour.

you may understand that for the period of those circumstances, they did no longer understand what alcohol became into. there have been certainly 2 approaches of transforming into water secure to drink back then: boiling, which persons in the East did to make tea, and fermenting, which the individuals of the West did to make each thing from wine to beer to mead to vodka. (i've got even heard that some have self assurance that the full cultural branch between East and West started this way). for that reason, wine became into an essential component of Roman lifestyle. Any references to it are maximum possibly particular and planned. There wasn't the social stigma that attaches to alcohol in the present day; they knew too plenty made you inebriated, however the attitudes we've in the direction of minors eating or perhaps to a pair quantity alcoholism are very cutting-edge issues.

it is a grain alcohol beverage. It's proof is over 150. Which if you divide by 2, makes it 75% straight alcohol. Compare that to your average 5-7% beer. If you drink it on a regular basis, it can damage your tooth enamel.

Its a pure grain alcohol.
actually available in either 150 proof (75% pure ethanol) and 190 proof (95% pure).
Most states have laws against that high of proof (part of why they started making a 150 proof - only used to be 190!).
still remember the road trips from Pocatello to Jackson Hole or Afton to buy the stuff...

everclear is 100% alcohol. you can light it with a match. if you put
it a punch, you really can't taste it. however, you'll wake up in the morning with your eyeballs lying on your chest & being able to
hear the thoughts of other people (too loud)
