it's annoying... but it's normal. dogs live in packs. part of pack life is determining who is the dominate one. if you want it to stop you must show a bit of favoritism to the dominate one. sounds mean, but it isn't. dogs are less stressed, and more happy when they know who is in charge. figure out whose in charge by which one is most often the "humper", and which one is the "humpee". give the dominate one his food first at dinner time and feed the other one a little later. when you greet the dogs always greet the dominate one enthusiastically, and first. greet the lesser almost like an after thought. if they have a fight, even though you want to scold them don't. instead... put the lesser dog in a room by himself for a little while, and let the dominate dog remain with you as his reward for "winning." all of these things will reinforce the pack order. with pack order well established, the humping will be less, and less frequent. also, don't over react when they do. a simple "NO" and walk away. problem will go away!

outside of telling them to knock it off, not much you can do. once animals are fixed, it just means they can't breed. they become more docile as pets. but they still get the urges as they are animals. give them each their own teddy bear or stuffed animal to go at it with. they watch other animals doing it and still will get the urge and it doesn't matter if they are both the same sex. just as humans, we have operations not to have children but we still can do it. animals are strange creatures. on our family ranch we had a baby duck mallard and a goose. they grew up and the mallard didn't know it knew how to fly and chased the goose which was ten times as big thinking it was another mallard. once in awhile the mallard would run, not fly and catch the goose going at it with its leg or try to. drove the goose nuts. but since they grew up together, neither knew what species they were. your dogs are going through the same thing. they don't care what they are. try making a record of the times and dates they do it, so the vet may know if others in the area are in heat. a male dog can smell a female in heat a great distances. if they get excited and they are they only two around, they go for it.

this is actually a normal occurence in male dogs... it's a domination factor. The 'humping' as we all call it - is just like in a wolf pack - there is a leader, and this is the way the dogs determine who is more dominant. if there is a constant 'fight' over who is more dominant, this will continue. Sounds like both dogs have strong personalities and like to be the alpha dog.

This is not a sex issue, it is a dominance issue. They are trying to figure out who is, literally, Top Dog. There is not much you can do about it, other than getting a spray bottle of water & spraying them when they do this. It could be worse; my dogs used to fight (pretty badly, they were Dobermans) to figure out this point.

You might want to consult a trainer or a canine behaviorist if it escalates to violence. Otherwise, keep the spray bottle handy and hope they work it out.

They are trying to dominate, not have sex, you idiots! Just like men in prison. GET IT NOW? Let em alone until they decide the pack order, or else be the pack leader and make em stop it. If you are crazy, it aint cuz they ARE driving.

1) if they are fixed and do this they are probably in heat and doing this just wait a bit longer they will stop if not get them fixed
2)if not empty and clean out a bottle with a sprayer and when they do it spray them so they feel punished and they will learn they are miss behaving and hop fully stop

It's not sexual, this is a show of dominance. they are battling of who is the alpha male and one will be more dominant once he shows his aggression or power in another way sooner or later.

They are just trying to dominate, cause sometimes even females do it. That is the only thing I can think.

Don't worry about it. They don't have the same hangups we do. In dogs, humping is not only for sex, but often for dominance.
