Trans fats, like high fructose corn syrup, didn't even exist in the human diet until twenty years ago. Our systems haven't had near the time it would take to adapt to them. Trans fats, besides having all the negative properties of saturated fat, also raise the levels of LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) while lowering HDL (good) cholesterol.

Anything high in transfat is NOT good for you. But if you enjoy it, eat a litle bit of it. It won't kill you, and it's no fun to go through life only eating raw bran. Everything in moderation, but eat healthy stuff a lot.
