I worked in a health field for 4 years and I have seen many dead people.Everytime I saw the dead ones that died with their eyes opened, they eyes looked dull.why does this happen?

It's very simple actually. Their eyes dry out very quickly because they do not blink and also do not produce any tears. My mother worked in the morgue when I was little.

I don't know, but I happened to see a pair of dead eyes in a Tokyo train station once and it really freaked me out. THE worst experience I've ever had.

Didn't you ever donate the eyes to ROBI the national tissue and organ bank? I nurse and have seen many pts pass on. When they die and donate their eyes, we immediately put saline into their eyes and tape them closed for donation purposes.
Pts eyes lose their luster because their sould has left their body, but the shiney lense is still there.

Tear ducts are responsible for keeping the eyes moist, and clear of debris. Obviously, when you die, these glands no longer work.

they are not ready to leave this world so they keep their eyes open...im guessing...how should i know go ask a dead person or something

because when the heart stops your bodily secretions start drying up immediatly.
