Anti-depressent use has to be monitored as many individuals react badly to them. Some people will have success on the first one, some will not have any success on any of them.
Sorry. Have to say use a doctor.

I've been told that endorphines released during exercise are much more effective. I'd go that route first if you really don't want to start at the doctor's office.

Some believe in St John's Wort pills as well. It's herbal, so available prescription free, but I don't know whether it's BS or legit.

There are so many different types of anti-depressant drugs that perform many different functions in your body. It would be a terrible mistake to take medicine like that and not really know what type of effects or side effects it has. You can get counseling and meds without your parents knowledge. Look for the Department of Mental Health in your community. Every town has one. Good Luck.

why don't you want to see a doc? a lot of times, depending on income, they'll just give them to you like in samples but lots and lots. i've seen sites where you can buy them, but i wouldn't trust it.there could be a lot of options if you were to give more details. are you in school? do you not want parents to know or what
