Hello, I am a Catholic. Therefore, yes, I believe in the mystery of the Holy Trinity.
There is a theological principle called the hypostatic union, which is this triune God. You can think of it as a triangular prism. It is one self-contained object, with three distinct faces, as observed "standing" on a base. In theology, God is three distinct persons (not HAS three persons, but IS three persons), the Creator, the Savior, and the Sanctifier.
God the Father created the world, but co-existed with the Son from that time and the love between them is the Holy Spirit.
The Father sent the Son into the world to redeem mankind; his Soul still completely united to that of the Father, and the Holy Spirit continuing to be the Love between them.
After the Ascension, the Son gave the gift of His Love, the Holy Spirit, to the Apostles and Mary at Pentecost.
To this day, the Three Spirit-Beings coexist in Splendor, and the Son retains his glorified body in Heaven.
God Bless, in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

I believe that God himself is all these people. God said he was one God and a jealous God. The bible also said "In the beginning there was the Word, The Word was with God and the Word was God, and the Word was made Flesh." Hence God was made flesh. Jesus said if you have seen Me you have seen the Father. Jesus said "I have to leave you so I can come back to you" The form of the Holy Spirit. another thought, If God is the Father and the Holy Spirit overshadow'd Mary and she became Pregnant then the Holy Spirit would be the Father and God would be the step Father. Naught!!!!!! Yes there are some mysteries in the bible about the Oneness of God and the believers of the Holy Trinity. But if God is all powerful and He said he is the only God and he is a jealous God, I don't think He would share. I was a Catholic for many years, Jesus said no man could come to the Father except by me. You don't have to pray to Mary, or St peter or Saint whoever or all the stautues in the church. Just Jesus.
No offence intended.
In Love

Not only Catholics believe in the trinity but a lot of other denominations do as well. For the life of me I can't see what the problem is. Lets take man for example since we have been created in His image. A man's mind reason and use logic and may want the thing that is most reasonable. A man's heart is emotion based and may want the thing that is loved, not reasonable. And a man's spirit looks to eternity, takes the really long view and may want something that is a mixture of logic and emotion. Those three things all act differently but they all comprise a single being, a man. God is the same. The spirit is the Holy Spirit. The heart, the physical body, is Christ. The mind is God. Three different things and yet all comprise one God.

No.
No more than Larry Moe and Curly, are a trinity.
The word trinity and the doctrine are not in the Bible.
For instance, if Jesus is God Almighty why doe he not know everything that God knows all the time?
Mt.24:36Â “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.
Rev.1:1 A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place.
Mt24:36? only God knows?
Rev.1:1? "which God GAVE him"?
And my personal favorite:
John 1:1 In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was (a) god.
And:
John1:. 18Â No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom [position] with the Father is the one that has explained him.
So how is it Jesus could be God?(John1:1), and yet no man has seen God at any time(John1:18)?
Never had an answer by any trinitarian yet on this MAJOR CONTRADICTION.

The trinity is an invention of man. It was an attempt of the early Catholic Church to somehow explain the co-existence of the three by using a pagan idea. I believe in God...everything else is his creation. I do not believe that there are two other co-equal gods that share his being. In fact, the first of the Ten Commandments states, " I am the Lord your God, you shall have no other gods before me". There is no mention there of a Holy Spirit or Jesus (the so-called messiah that was yet to come).

I believe in the Trinity.
--
Here is a brief synopsis of the Trinity:
There is only ONE God. He manifests himself in three personas/persons/manifestations for the purposes of the redemption of, and relationship with, human beings.
Contrary to what some people say, there is nothing irrational or illogical about this concept (of the Trinity).
For an explanation (and defense) of the doctrine of the Trinity, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/sect/doc/trinity.html
Cordially,
John

They are all one, yet they are also three entity's. It's like when a man and a woman marry, God says the two become twain, meaning the two become one person. It is the same with the Holy Trinity, all of them are one and yet three seperate beings.
