IF I bring it up, she yells at me for three hours and sometimes longer.

Yeah, I have considered it, but she gets a monthly check, and does not make enough to get into a home, and to much to qualify for any aid=( don't know what to do?

They did come, but her insurance would only pay for 90 days. I do stand in there when she showers and help her into the tub. Lately she just REFUSES. I don't know what to do?

Tell her you ran the bath she asked for, and help her in. If you aren't able to bathe her and care for her at home, maybe you should consider a home.

She probably also has a fear of falling and a fear of slipping . Hate to tell you this but more elderly people are injured bathing than doing most anything else and if your not going to help (no judgment I wouldn't want to either) then you have to have someone come in to help with that. If you don't she will slip and fall and break something then you'll be changing diapers and bathing her. Home health should come and they should be covered under her insurance.

i would suggest you take this up with her physician. drs. can prescribe medication to be taken before that will curb her combative ,argumentative behavior when you need to bathe her. also these patients usually have a time during the day when they are more agreeable. note her moods during the day to determine a trend and work around those times.

Send her to a nursing facility, she won't know she's there anyway. If she gives you a hard time, tell her she isn't in a nursing home. If she knows she is in a nursing home, she's well enough not to be sitting around your house stinking all day.

This happened to us when my grandpa lived with us (but he was in the right state of mind). We ended up having to hire someone to come in twice a week to help. He was less likely to fight a stranger than one of the family. good luck!
