I had one removed beacuse it was suspicious ( not just an ordinary mole ). Dermatologist advised me to have it done because we will never know what it is unless we have it biopsied. The only pain you will feel is the injection of the local anesthesia ( the needle prick ) but all the rest will be numb. Depends on how big the mole is..but the doctors will try as much as possible not to cause any scar. Me, i had just one stitch so for 4 months now, all i see is a very small scar( as small as acne scar ). But the doctors told me it will take time to reached the point that it will be as good as gone. If you have doubts of whether it is a mole or not..better have it biopsied..melanoma ( a type of skin cancer) usually starts with just like a mole thing and you'll never notice it has metastasized already. Hope this helps. God bless! ;0

I had a mole removed. It was done under a local anesthetic and took maybe ten minutes, start to finish. I had two stitches and it did leave a small scar. It felt like a small cut with two stitches, so no, not much pain.

I've had several removed. There is hardly any -- if any -- scar at all. One that was on my back had to be sort of scooped out a little, but the scar is perfectly flat and round. It looks a little bit like what a cigarette burn might look like. No big deal at all.

the freezing and the laser doesn't really leave noticeable scar but a smooth spot that wont grow hair again. and it can cost from 900 to 2000 dollars depending on were, antistatic, and how. freezing did not hurt and i was awake with a small shot of antistatic like a dentist would use next to the mole.
