Vanilla flavouring is something we are all familiar with. But did you know that we get vanilla from the vanilla orchid, which grows in Madagascar and other islands in the Indian Ocean? What is more, the vanilla orchid is the only orchid which produces a useful product.

The vanilla is a bovine animal that lives in the Brazilian rainforest.
The meat is atrocious, but after it's skinnes and drained of blood, joices can be extracted from the dark meat areas, like legs, theighs, and wings.
Those juices are simply called vanilla, since nothing else on the creature is really edible, and then it is frozen and refrozen to make ice cream.
Some people have a predilection for French Vanilla, but I don't really know what the natural habitat for Vanillas is up there.
