I love lettuce

When I was in high school, i washed dishes at wendy's. The crap jobs that americans supposedly wont do, are the jobs that americas teens do. You start at the bottom and work your way up. Kids want spending money to go to the movies and buy candy and whatever. Hell yeah they would pick lettuce for five bucks an hour. A movie ticket is only 10 bucks!

No they wouldn't. But by that same token, the guy at the local union grocery store who unpacks the lettuce and puts it on the rack for sale is probably making $20 per hour or so with full benefits. The grocery guy is doing easier work than the lettuce picker, shouldn't he make less money?

I don't think it's soley an illegal immigrant issue, it's also a racial and class issue in that your average lettuce picker most likely cannot speak English. If he could, he'd go get at job at the grocery store and make $20 per hour with benefits.

IMHO, if the borders where secure, all people living in the US where forced to learn English, than many of the low paying jobs would become better paying jobs.

You kidding me right?

You have no clue what backbreaking in your face sweating all over my body work that i've done - for even less than 5 bucks an hour for 18-20 hours a day. That's putting it nice and in this context.

There is no job Americans won't do - and I am PISSED off how America's poor that needs to work is being pushed aside AGAIN so foreign nationals can be prefered over citizens for jobs!!!

You think poor Americans are going to admit they need the work, hey look I don't care if you don't give a crap about America's poor for whatever your biased motives. But damn I gotta work up to and past Social Security to take care of myself - STOP MAKING ME THE ILLEGAL!!!

AND HOW MANY MEXICANS IN MEXICO CRY OUT THEY WOULD NEVER DO THAT WORK EITHER, AND WHILE WE'RE AT IT, FOR ALL THE OTHER DEVELOPED COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD, WHO DOES THE JOBS IN MEXICO WON'T DO AND WHO DOES THE JOBS IS JAPAN, EUROPE, CHINA, AUSTRAILIA, AFRICA THAT ANY OF THEM WON'T DO??

No...I have a child who is special needs. He is handicapped, but not stupid. Still, he makes $9 an hour at his job and he doesn't have his high school diploma yet, only 17. So, no...I don't think so, most Americans expect to be paid more.

I don't know. But, I do know that people sometimes, when they are desperate, do jobs they might not have done otherwise. Especially, when they have a family to support. It is better to be able to pay the bills and provide a home for your family, then live on the streets. More and more families are having to work more than one job. Those that even went on to achieve college degrees, if lay ed off, are forced to work more than one job to support their family.

Sure they would, if they had to. There are no jobs that Americans won't do. That is a b.s. lie perpetuated by the biggest liar in America, BUSH. What the hell does he know anyway? He's always been rich. He doens't have a clue about real Americans.

None that I know would, as sad as it is to say. A job is a job if you have family to provide for, and even that one would be better than sitting around not doing ****.
