People having a chemo are losing hair,#1 and #2 some religion does not allow to show a natural hair.

because not every one is blessed with either long hair or full hair or both...
all celebrities wear fake hair. some even wear wigs.... jessica simpson for instance
I'm not disputing that it doesn't sometimes look horrible but that's jsut when ppl buy cheap hair and don't do it properly
but when it is done properly it looks amazing

my friend told me "What they can't acheive they weave". I guess to get a different look every now and then. That's always been my questions to my friends. You spend a lot of money on store bought hair? When you can go and get your natural god given hair done and in a few months you will have great looking hair.

same reason why girls get fake boobs. they think they can get away with it. And hey, sometimes it looks good.. sometimes it doesnt.
Mostly for self-esteem purposes, but we all know it's also to attract and get the attention of the opposite sex. Regardless of what they say. =p
