Yup. You don't want to be in a relationship with someone who isn't invested in it, do you? Don't be afraid of being alone, and let him go if that's what he wants.

On the other hand, do you just think he doesn't love you, or do you KNOW that?

It's not only ok, but it's the only thing you should do if you're sure he doesn't love you back. Friendship won't work because there's one sided love in this case. First I'd find out for sure if he doesn't love you. Watch out for the signs... his body language, eye contact, the way he talks, how often he talks to you, where you are on his priority list, if you're even on the list... It's not a good idea to hold on to a person who you love, but doesn't love you back. Believe me, you will feel more empty and alone than not being with him. Of course it will be difficult, so have a family or a friend to help you get through the difficult time. You will meet a guy who will feel the same way you do about him and when you do, you will be glad that you didn't waste your time on.....what's his face...?

If you don't know for sure, don't do anything rash, talk to him about what your thinking and feeling. That's the key thing in any relationship...COMMUNICATION. If his answer is yes he loves you, and he's sincere about it. Then there is probably just something preoccupying him. Or that your reading into something that isn't there.

But if his answer is less than truthful, or he seems like he is trying to avoid answering. Then your suspisions are probably right. Give him an ultimatum... Be honest with you and tell you exactly how he feels about you. Or else, his "silence" will be the answer, and your outta that relationship.

Either way, you'll get an answer. And you can proceed with your life as YOU see fit.

Good luck.

Sometimes a person has difficulty in expressing love. Maybe there is some fear of it. Love can be intimidating in a way. When you are in love you lose control. You are kind of at the mercy of the other. It can be scary and make you want to run away. I think this is especially true when we are young and trying to understand the new and unfamiliar feelings that can arise in us. Talk with him about it and be patient if you think this could be his problem. If he is indifferent or uncaring, however, you might want to consider moving on to something more fulfilling. Love your self first.

Love is hard to find, and if your partner doesn't love you and you stick around, how are you going to find that right person. Did you ask your partner if they loved you or not before jumping to conclusions. Talking and communicating are very important in a relationship so always be sure of the answer, not the one you think is the answer

Absolutely. Just tell him how you feel, and tell him what you want and what you feel like you're not getting. Maybe he's been distracted with something else going on in his life; school, work, family. But if there's love going out with no love in return, it's not going to be a very successful relationship, and dragging it out is just going to make it that much harder to end down the road.

If he for sure doesn't feel the same way about you than don't waste your time on him. Don't stay with someone if they don't love you back. It will be o.k. over time you will move on and find someone better, hang in there.

Talk to him first. Misunderstandings can cause all sorts of problems. And "feelings" aren't reliable.
