If you want a natural remedy for the fleas here it is. First get a bottle of mane and Tail conditioner from walmart. Get a bottle of medical grade eucalyptus oil ( can be purchased on-line ) mix several ounces of the oil into the conditioner. I should smell very very strong. Spread it all over the dog and rub it in to the skin. You can do the same with the child as the oil is used as a reliever for arthritic patients joint pain. As the oils dry the smell does dissipate, however it does take days to fade completely. I would advise putting this on them outside. watch the child for any type of skin reaction. Usually there is none. I would spray or bomb the house for fleas while you are doing this outside. get a flea treatment for the yard, the kind that you use with a garden hose, that way no powders are left on the grass for the child to get into. Advise the parents of the child that in most states if a child goes to school with fleas they can be sent home the same as kids with head lice. They are not an acceptable insect to be carrying around with you. They carry diseases and bacteria.

PLEEEEEEASE HELP THIS POOR ANIMAL YOU SIT WITH!!
I would verbally crucify an owner who is so negligent. Do this poor dog and kid a favor, and buy some Advantage for it too. When a dog or cat is on Advantage, everywhere they sleep or sit or whatever, the fleas are killed. The fleas on your dog should not be able to stay there if your treatment is up to date. But, if you take your dog inside with fleas on him, they may get in your carpet - and your dog can't lay EVERYWHERE! So, treat your house and yard. But best, treat this poor animal. ALSO, fleas do not drown in water. They are incredibly resilient! All that will happen is that they may leave your dog and go down the drain.

Whatever you do will not really help until you stop exposing yourself and your dog to the source of fleas. Despite Advantage or other treatments, you will keep bringing them home and they can live up to 6 weeks in your house without eating.

Get your neighbor to clean up their act. Suggest flea treatment to them, first! They should vacuum daily to pick up adult fleas. They should dust the house with flea powder, the stuff that prevents eggs from hatching.

Exterminating fleas every three months is insane. Your boss obviously does not have a handle on the flea problem in his house.

Does your dog like bath's? If so you can put her in the bath tub with luke warm water (a full tub) and let her sit there for no less than 5 minutes. The fleas will actually drown in the water. You will know when the fleas are dead because they sink.
I prefer this method because it involves no chemicals and won't bother her skin.
I have also heard a few drops of vinegar in her drinking water every day, will actually repel fleas naturally.
Hope this helps!

go to the pet store and get a flea dip for him/her. It wont hurt the advantage at all. I suggest not taking your dog with you. The fleas can also attach themselves to you so change your clothes when you get home.

you can also treat your floors for fleas with a spray or dust. It kills any eggs that fall off your dog for 7 months.
