If your kitchen was being renovated and you had no choice, what would you do? Eat out all the time, or occasionally clean utensils and foods (e.g vegetables and fruits) in your bathroom sink? (PS. in this scenario, you'd still have a working fridge and stove.) (PS#2. Just trying to settle a discussion about whether most people would be disgusted or understand the circumstances that led to the situation.)

I would do so carefully. You have to scrape off all loose and caked on food first because your bathroom has no garbage disposal, nor is it designed to drain the same way a kitchen sink is.

Eating out is expensive. Do take-out, or buy prepared meals in throw-away pans at the grocery store and use paper/plastic utensils.

I can't see what would be disgusting, after all if the bathroom was kept as clean as the kitchen, its all the same water supply being used.
No different to handwashing small clothes in the kitchen sink because the handbasin in the bathroom was full of soaking hairbrushes etc etc, a common occurance for me on cleaning days.

In fact the only thing I would not use other than for its intended purpose would be the loo!! LOL

I'd do it in the bathroom. People don't understand how much bacteria is found in their own kitchen sinks, a bathroom can be just as clean.

Our kitchen was redone last summer. Luck for us that we have two bathrooms. We cleaned and sanitized the downstairs bathroom and used it for washing dishes and food. No one (including guests) was allowed to use the bathroom for it's intended purpose.

P.S. To sanitize a food surface, mix 30% isopropyl alcohol with 70% water. Spray it onto the surface, and allow it to evaporate.

it is perfectly OK to clean your dish's in your bath room sink provided you keep it clean .any one who says different is being ridiculous it is only a surface just like in the kitchen I mean we are talking about the sink here. and I believe most people will agree .

I would definitely use the bathroom. In fact when I'm at school in the dorms I do all my dishes in a bathroom. I see no reason not to.

I would and have. You shower and brush your teeth in there why not? And actually they say most people's kitchen sinks are bacteria breeding grounds.

As long as there is clorox, hot water and soap, I don't understand the problem. Clean is clean.
