People are too ignorant of Roman and Greek mythology. There are many cultural references to these ancient gods that cause a lot of modern people to stare off into space and to drool at the corners of the mouth because they are utterly ignorant of mythology.

There is much about human nature to be learned from mythology. The gods were very much imperfect beings, with their own foibles and shortcomings, and are still very instructive for today's audiences.

I sense from the tone of your question that you are somehow trying to bait white (European) people into getting all ticked off, but this fish ain't biting that hook. I'm just fine with my present religion, thanks, but I do wish we were all a bit more culturally literate when it comes to ancient mythology.

Most pre-christian myths were parables of how to behave and ideals to emulate, rather than claims of actual existence. The Greek tales were really no different than Aesop's fables, and the Scandinavian stories were intended to motivate people (eg. stuff like "fight the good fight, even if you lose").

The christian myths are intended to scare the fitful - oops, faithful - into blind obedience.

I am Greek, and from my family's stories, not everyone believed in those gods. There were accepted social practices that many people did not support.

Ummm... the idea is good, but the panthenon was based on too many rituals depending on what region you lived in.

I'm not here to worship my ancestors traditions and customs.

Hardcore? There is ONE GOD..ONE CHURCH..ONE BODY..ONE BAPTISM..ONE FAITH.

If this makes me "Hardcore". Then I'm Hardcore.

sorry you wasted my time :)

I won't serve, pray or worship dead gods. It would be useless.
