Yes. It will start to age faster through oxidation and can eventually go bad. (but I've never had a bottle last that long. LOL)

Keep your alcohol in the freezer. Anything with an alcohol content of 40 proof (20%) or more will not freeze. Not only will they last longer but they'll also be nice and cold.

yes - but as everyone has said it takes a while. The alcahol will oxidize, and the sugars, especially high in rums, will start to get stale. It will taste a little flat - but if you are throwing in into a glass of Coke, it will keep probably as long as you will have it. If its a nice sipping rum, you will notice the oxidizing/stale taste.

I know that you do not have to put it in the fridge. But "all good things do come to an end", so you should try not to have it sitting around forever.
