i know what a fith is but what is it a fith of

It's a fifth of a gallon. (4 quarts in a gallon, 5 "fifths"). Except now it's 750 milliliters, go figure.

Strangely enough a "fifth" is actually 4/5 of a quart, which is 1/5 (one-fifth) of a gallon.

So five fifths is 4 quarts, or one gallon.

I remember once I drank a fifth on the forth and did not wake up till the sixth and I slept through the fifth. But I couldn't have cause I drank the Fifth.. hmm... something wrong there...
