How do I get credit for applying to college with community service?

I heard that most colleges look at community service when u r applying to college. How do you get recognition for community service?

Most colleges will consider community service as a plus factor in their admissions decisions, along with other factors such as academic performance, extracurricular activities, work experience, etc. Almost all will include a section on their application allowing an applicant to list the details of their community service. However, you will not get actual credit toward course work for community service.
