Just about all dermotologists suggest you don't. The reason being is that you could wind up with scars. Best to keep a clean face (no harsh soaps either), if you do have a pimple, take a warm wash cloth and gently hold it on the pimple to open the pore. This way you can ease the contents out, not using your nails or too much pressure.

If its like still under your skin and it looks like a bump then you shouldn't pop it, but if its white and its on the surface then you SHOULD do it to get the infection out and then put acne treatment or benzoyl peroxide on it to heal it but NOT PROACTIVE because it makes it worse. NEVER put acne treatment on a beneath-the-surface bump or an unpopped pimple because then your drying out the top of it and trapping the infection which is gonna make it even more painful in the long run. TRUST ME on this because my moms an estetician. Hope you take my advice:)

Only if they are white is the time to pop them and don't do it hard, be gentile to avoid scars, try to use a cleanser with salicylic acid to prevent the infection to spread and try to wash your face with a soap with the same ingredient as the cleanser, morning and night.
Also it might be a hormonal problem so a dermatologist can tell you if you need birth control pills to stop the pimple problem.

Apparently, it's bad to pop pimples. You may just make it worse. My advice: instead of popping, hold a cottonball soaked in peroxide on the pimple a couple of minutes. It will draw the poison out and won't leave your skin pock-marked.

If you leave them alone most will eventually pop. But who wants to walk around with a bulging whitehead? I think it's okay to pop them when they're ready. Obviously picking at your pores will lead to scarring so you have to be careful.
