Because the only true activity that will bring you contentment is the one the Lord blesses you in - my husband is a gardener and that's the only time he is truly content is when he is working with soil, plants, rocks, landscaping - God gifted him with an insight and eye for creating a beautiful yard and because he gives God the glory and honor for the talent and beauty of God's creation and the privilege to use it, then it's contentment. Ask God for the activity that will bring you contentment and you will never find a dull moment.

If you are a Christian, some things won't be right for you to do and you will feel bad about doing them, even though everyone else is doing them. The bible plainly says that what is right for one man , may not be right for another. In other words, depending on how much faith God has given you, what you feel deep down is wrong, will be wrong for you to do, while if someone else' faith says there is nothing wrong with doing it, it will be no sin to them.
Then again this MIGHT not be a spiritual thing but COULD be a sign of OCD (OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER). And you might want to consult a physician or better yet psychologist about it, and , to my knowledge, there is a medication to help combat it.
Then again MAYBE God has something he has been trying to tell you, MAYBE he is speaking to your heart to tell you to do something Great for Him. Find out (if you don't already know) what your talents are, and then pursue them 100%, no matter what they are.
You might live in an industrial town where everyone is a coal miner, and you have an uncanny talent for performing ballet. But if God has given you such a talent, then you will never be happy mining coal, you'll only be happy doing ballet. For me, it is my music and my writing. I only have true peace when I'm writing trying to help someone or doing my music, I never feel peace any other time!!!
PRAISE GOD!!!

Because maybe the activities are something you're not passionate about. When you find out what your talents are, you are fulfilled to a point. Too many people waste their talents (I'm one of them). Pick up a guitar, a book, start a diary or do whatever it is you're good and and enjoy. What do you enjoy doing? Make a list of what you enjoy and find people to do those things with you, or do them yourself.
I understand what you're saying....it takes time to find out who you are and what you like to do.....don't always fall for the same mundane routine, start trying new things and find your niche. You will....

Augustine Fi... and Opinionated have the best answers here. I could see that even before I read the available answers as a way of making sure I was understanding your question correctly. In my words, you are a very special person in the eyes of God. Everyone is, really, but YOU are still hearing Him, whether it always feels good or not, and YOU CAN'T do just what everyone else thinks is fun or something you "should enjoy". Trust me. The reasons you can't abandon your values is because YOU REFUSE TO abandon God, and He sees it clearly, and He hears you wonderfully. Keep on keepin' on. God hears you hearin' Him. YOU will be one of His Standard Bearers in your life time. I usually close my answers with "God Bless you", but it's so easy to see God is already Blessing you. Well, may God keep on Blessing you. He's having a wonderful impact on humanity through you. Thanks for asking your question. In this small way I got to "know" you. God Bless you, again and forever!!

Perhaps you should do some soul searching and figure out what you think you should be doing that is so important. Some people feel that way when they have a need to volunteer their time or promote a certain cause that they feel is important.

You have to follow your bliss...it might not be time to do what is important to you, don't struggle with it and it will end up showing up when you least expect it.
In the meantime, do things that make you happy, you find interesting, stir your creativity etc.
It will all come together when it is suppose to...that important thing may not yet be ready to accept your help...enjoy the vacation because you could be very busy very soon.
Good luck

When it's your time for you, do what you enjoy Instead of trying doing what others think you might enjoy. If it makes you happy, that's important enough. Then when it's their time, get involved in their activites with as much zeal. You might find out you enjoy their activities almost as much as your own.

Got the same feeling. So, I do activities that I enjoy. Like music.
So just do whatever activities you like. Draw or something.

Not everyone is the same and not everyone enjoys the same activities. Don't let others decide for you what is "fun". You have the answer inside you, just listen to it. :)

Don't understand really what exactly you mean by your question. Are you just idle and not doing anything? Its kind of confusing , and wish I knew more. Are you sad or depressed or lonely and just not wanting to do anything? Hope things turn around for you and you become more cheerful.....(smile)
