Man-made or natural? If you are asking man-made then Taipei 101 is the tallest structure. Though this is argued, as there is no clear definition on what it takes to be the tallest. Is it the highest inhabited level or the top of any additional spires. Can the height be measures from the top of a radio tower or does it need to be structural? All of these questions effect the outcome.
If you are asking what the tallest natural object is then it is the Hawaiian Islands. Remember, the islands are just the tip of a very large volcano, and the ocean bottom is a long ways down in that part of the ocean. In addition due to its hugh mass it also depresses into the ocean floor more then 20,000 feet, making the entire structure a little over 56,000 feet tall.

Its probably the klvy-tv mast but it depends on what kind of structure. I think of all the different types this is the tallest of them all.
"The KVLY-TV mast (formerly the KTHI-TV mast) is a television transmitting tower in North Dakota, USA, used by Fargo station KVLY channel 11. At 2,063 ft (628.8 m), it is currently the world's tallest supported structure on land."
