Anorexia nervosa is the disease and it may not be known right away. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anorexia_nervosa
Anorexia is decreased appetite which can happen for a variety of reasons, including depression, anti-depression drugs, cancer and stress. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anorexia_%28symptom%29
The problem is that a person can suffer from anorexia (lack of appetite) for a while until one day a little switch goes off... And then anorexia nervosa kicks in. Dieters can do this by losing 15 to 20% of their weight quickly.
When I was married I was severely depressed. My husband had slowly cut me off from friends and family, and then ignored me. He loved fast food, which we ate at least twice a week. I hate fast food burgers, so I didn't eat. So between that and being depressed my eating decreased.
But once I lost about 20 pounds I suddenly became obsessed with the scale and controlling it's movement. Somedays it was because I wanted something to control because nothing else seemed in control. Somedays it was because I just wanted my own husband to notice me.
One day I realized I weighed 98 lbs at 5'4". (I weigh 120 right now and have very little fat.) I told him to decide about our marriage. He didn't choose me, but I did.
But for over 3 years I suffered arrythmia, with my heart suddenly pounding my chest, roaring in my ears, or skipping beats. This would feel like someone had piled concrete blocks on my chest.
Now 8 years later I have to take a sublingual B supplement so that my body can better use the food I eat. So it does do damage.
If your dad is worried then maybe you ought to think about it. If you can, talk to someone who can tell you what you should eat.

if you eat less just because you want to keep fit, this may be or may not be anorexia. if you don't have an ill mood, if you don't have a dry skin and finally if your periods are normal then you wont have anorexia. anorexia nervosa kind of people have a depressed or swinging mood and they have a severe obsession about taking calorie.
if you are permanently loosing weight and have one of the above considered problems you should visit your doctor. i hope this may be of some help

yep, you may be anorexic, I was about 2-3 years ago and never admitted it to anyon, until I was reading an article about it and thought to myself hey thats me!I couldnt even eat three bites of any thing without feeling like i was completely full, and then i just stopped eating for a while i lost weight but it wasnt worth it. You can die from anorexia, I am lucky i didnt, i just became very anemic and i still am to this day, It will really mess you up.
Try to eat right and be healthy, for your sake.

YES - as a matter of fact the victim sometimes will never even admit it (although most do come to realize it). If you or someone you know are at this point it is time for some serious help.
There are many physical as well as emotional people suffer from becoming anorexic, and death is the ultimate price they pay with out help.
THIS IS AN URGENT MATTER WITH NO TIME TO SPARE!!!

Most people who have anorexia deny it. This does not mean that you necessarily have it, but maybe you should really think about how much you really do eat. Sometimes people are so consumed with being skinny that they don't realize what they are doing.
Even people with bulimic don't realize what they are doing even though they know they are making themselves puke.
If you really think you might be anorexic you should talk to someone.
