I'm Christian, and people are always saying that we discourage magic because it involves Satan and yadee ya, and that Jesus is the only God. Well that is not entirely true because I have friends who happen to practice witchcraft, and they don't believe in Satan, I've read books and in most cases he's not involved. Plus I also believe that there is more than one god, because different countries have different religions. Sure some are Christian, but look at Buddhist, Hindus and Native Americans for crying out loud! They all have different Gods for different things.

I would just like to point out that I did not say I didn't believe in God, I was just adding that I believe there are other Gods to, but I don't believe in them.

I agree with you. I'm Pagan...and there are different gods or goddesses for different things and different occasions, but whenever you bring that up to a christian you are automatically a sinner and whatever you believe in is wrong.

Ready for a shock? Here we go:

Yes, I would call you a sinner... but NOT for the reasons listed here. The world is full of polytheistic cultures and also cultures that don't reverence Jesus and/or Jehovah (Yahweh so forth and so on). As a Christain, it is not my place to judge any of these religions or the people that practice them...

I would call you a sinner because I call ME a sinner... we are all sinners... Paul wrote in the book of Romans "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God".

So a person's religion isn't want makes them a sinner. Even Christians are sinners (despite what you may have heard from some other preachers or TV Evangelists)... the only difference between Christains and other sinners is that we are saved (by Grace... through faith...)

well we're all sinners and fall short of the glory of God as many have already said, so that answers that question. EVERYONE sins. but what I think about your friends who don't believe in Satan who practice witchcrat, well i think that it's wrong.. and if I was you I wouldn't support them in that. and I'd try to talk to them and tell them they're wrong in doing that. and to answer the thing about you don't believe in the other Gods, but you believe there are other gods... WELL, that i disagree with you on... I believe there are what people think are other gods, but in actuality, the ONLY God is Jesus Christ. and if you were a true Christian you'd know that there were NO other gods. and there have been many cases in the Bible where it was proven that the gods that those people worship were not even real(in other words they were made up)

No I would not call you a sinner.

I believe the miracle of prayer can translate to an incantation or charm. God put the herbs and plants on this planet for us to use. Whether they be in potions, or medicines.

Most practicioners of religious witchcraft (for example Wicca) worship the goddess and the god. That in itelf would implicate that there is more than one god. They also create and worship idols.

The problem that most "Christians" have with religious witchcraft is not that the practitioners worship Satan, as most do not, the fact of the matter is that they feel they are breaking the 10 commandments. That being - 1.) I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me. 2.) You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me.

A lot of Christians are losing their faith because there is a lot of religious dogma that has to be accepted purely on blind faith.

In my opinion (which is exactly that) Christians now days are brought up in a "prove it to me" era. I don't need tangable proof to tell me that God - MY GOD - exists. He exists in my heart because I choose to allow Him into my heart. HE GAVE ME THE ABILITY TO CHOOSE!!!! How wonderful a God he must be!

By the same token He gave everyone else the option. Who am I or anyone else to take it away????!!!!

---I know a little about Satan. Demons regularly speak to me and threaten me. They even used to shake me in my bed at night. One thing I know about them is that they are tricky, smart, and have strategies. They know how to make witchcraft seem innocent, but I guarantee that Satan is behind all witchcraft. Think about it. If you were Satan, wouldn't you tried to hide when you are behind something like witchcraft so that poeple will do it and not think it is wrong?
---Worshipping other god's is wrong because worship was only meant for the greatest being in the universe - God. He requires that we worship nothing else and hates it when we do. How would you like someone to treat a snail as good as they treat you? Because God is so great, that is what it is like when we worship anything but Him. It is like a treating a snail like it is an angel, which is ridiculous.
---We are all sinners as many before have said. Make Jesus the boss of your life, and you will be saved. To really be a Christian, you have to believe Jesus. It was Jesus who said he is the only way to heaven, not me or anyone else. That is why I have no problem with that.

Hey, it's not whether I or any other will call you a sinner or not. It's what you see yourself and how you deal with your own conscience.

You are a Christian and that means you believed in Jesus Christ and what He did for you on the cross. People who reminds you that you can't attain the perfectness of God (or you have sinned) are people who forgot that Christ has washed you whiter than snow and God will never again condemn you.

By the way, I don't need magic because when I pray, miracles happen. =) God Bless.

No I would definitely not consider you a sinner. Please remember that Jesus was a revolutionary, a total rebel in his time and went against the authorities to listen to his heart and follow the wisdom that he knew was real beyond what anyone else told him to believe and beyond what was written down. He was considered crazy and subversive.
There is also evidence of early Christians who practicied what we might call "magic" or of recognizing the divinity inside us and realizing our DIRECT CONNECTION with spirit, and naturally working with it. You are correct: what has been considered magic or shamanic traditions, witchraft, etc has its roots all over the world, including all over Europe for thousands and thousands of years. These people did not have the "devil" which is a modern Christian concept. Please also remember that the Bible has been written and rewritten so many times - and more women were burned at the stake for such "crimes" as helping other women during childbirth by King James than by other king in Englands history. Are you really going to trust his version of God or of truth???
Find your own truth. Jesus taught us that love is the law. LOVE is the greatest law, the fundamental teaching. Most of the rest is insignificant in comparison. Have the courage to question authority and believe in yourself. Its already happening

I'm a Witch, and I don't think you're a sinner at all. In fact, I give you kudos for having and open mind and making the effort to understand other religions rather than hate them. And all the while remaining a Christian, that's great! I wish more Christians were like you. If they were, then most Pagans wouldn't have hostility toward them.

Allyson,
Just like snowflakes, there is not two human beings that interpret and practice their religions in one same manner. There are guidelines, all the religious Books, and it is entirely up to you to interpret them as you see things. All religions have good foundations, where we fail is in the many interpretations that are usually dictated to us by the 'leaders' of said religions. I have found the most religious of people are those who truly believe in their own particular way, and most importantly, they do not try to impose their beliefs on others.
So no, based on your question, and assuming you've done nothing truly sinful : ), you are not a sinner. I would consider you a better, more honest Christian than most.
Be at peace and Godbless!

The fact that your friends practice and read something which is against church doctrine makes them, and you, sinners. But that's church dogma for you. The Christian church leaders are not so clean themselves. Even Muslims will think you're sinning because you practice witchcraft and read what is not Godly and believe in other gods aside from Him.

We must not be the same kinda christian. Buhda is not christian. Hindu is not christian. Chriatn means: Christ follower. I am a follower of Christ. There is only one God, & it is ... God. Jesus is God's only begotten Son, who is One of the Trinity. & yes, I would call you a sinner. we are all sinners. A sinner is: some one who thinks, says, or does anything wrong.
