I don't know if you believe in God or not, but consider this. If you didn't believe in God, or Heaven, then all you have to hope for in terms of happiness is what this world has to offer. Personally, that's a sad, sad thought for me. War, murder, child molesters, thieves, hatred............the list of problems in this world goes on and on. Do you really think that owning the car of your dreams, or having the best looking girlfriend/boyfriend, or living in your dream home, or never having to think about money again could really keep you happy? Because when you go to the ATM to pull out some of that cash, and a thug puts a gun in your mouth and takes your money, that handful of happiness is gone. Some punk with a gun took your happiness in about 3 seconds. You come home from the golf course, and the house has burned down. Your hot spouse leaves you because, despite the money, you find out that he/she was never attracted to you, was just using you for your money, and now he or she is going take whatever the thug at the ATM didn't get. What I'm saying is, humans are flawed. Our way of thinking is flawed. We get caught up in what's here on earth, and we can lose our earthly possesions in a moment's notice. Belief in God & salvation through Jesus Christ is the only thing worth putting up with all the crap on this earth for. Seriously, I don't know if I'd want to spend another day on this earth if I didn't know there was something better waiting for me. Our purpose here on earth is to serve God, therefore this world, and this life, really is meaningless without God.

Well, it makes alot of sense. Think of it in terms of loss and gain.
-If you don't believe in God...and God does not really exist:
No loss, but no gain either
-If you believe in God...and God does not exist:
Again, no gain, but no loss either (you have had someone to believe in all your life)
-If you don't believe in God...and God does exist:
No gain, lose Heaven (paradise)
-If you do believe in God...and God does exist:
No loss, gain: Heaven.
