I want to change the file so I can burn it on a CD-R and play it in my player. But it needs to be anything but DIVX. How do I do this?

Your DVD player won't play because it is not certified by DivX. You need a software like Roxio to burn CD/DVD in different format.

u can play in your computer but to play in your dvd player u have two choice buy a dvd player which support divx file formet or if you have a computer with dvd burner u have to have roxio 7.5 or roxio 8 media creator it has option to convert your divx file in to dvd or vcd format than u can play in your dvd player
i have it i did that its work great but only the thing is u will not get dolby digital or dts sound on that
try to find roxio 7.5 or 8 u will get what u need

a movie should be burned on a DVD instead of a CD, but if u won't have any choice, u can try looking into the VCD format. Those should work on most DVD players.

Use a program like Nero Vision, and burn it as a Video.

Then as long as your dvd player plays cd-rs, you'll be okay.
