It seems most (not all) Christians on Yahoo Answers actually believe it is their mission to belittle all "non-believers" in an attempt to convert them.

Do they not understand how truly obnoxious and idiotic their behavior is? Do they not understand that the world doesn't revolve around them? Do they not understand that Christianity is only 1 out of thousands of religions that mankind has and does subscribe to? The arrogance is astounding. What happened to the meek inheriting the Earth?

Save the Bible quotes please. For every one you can give that you think proves you're destined to witness, I can give you 2 more that'll say you're not.

Open your minds people? I understand there are some good, non-judgmental Christian folks amongst us. I'm not coming down on you. But please understand, the pious Hellfire Christians are giving you an awful name.

And yeah, it's more of a statement than a question. Consider it a public service announcement

It's pretty silly. Now I'm being accused belittling the accuser. Figures though, if it's all you've got you might as well give it a shot.

It's kind of like comming down on the blacks for criticizing the KKK.

FYI, for the presumptuous ones, I am NOT an Atheist.

Why is it that the Hell-fire responses are the most illiterate of the bunch? You don't need to be a prolific writer to state your position. But when you try to fake it you don't fool anyone. Instead you just come across as a nimrod. Keep it simple. I'll understand. I promise.

I've asked a similar question, but differently (that makes no sense, I know). I share your sentiments.

I just love this challenge. You equate good Christians with non-judgmental people. How far from an understanding of the our code of ethics. One, every time you decide to hangout with one person and not hangout with another, you've made a judgment.
Two, our very survival depends upon our good judgment.
Three, the verse you believe means Christians check their brains at the church door is mis-applied all the time. Would it make better sense to you if it read, "Do not condemn, for by whatever measure you use to condemn, your heavenly Father will also use on you. " Idiotic is calling others idiotic because you don't want to have to think about your life choices. You should consider your life choices without the prompt from strangers like [them evil Christians] We are often defensive because we are always under scrutiny and usually under attack from accountability haters. We remind you of the authority figure in your adolescence and you get uncomfortable and assume we are designing your discomfort. More often than not, I am asked something and in the process of giving an answer in person or via the web or phone I generally get attacked in the middle of my answer. It took a while to understand, I am not overly aggressive toward non-believers, non-believers are overly defensive and it comes up looking like, and feeling like I'm sure, your hatred toward and discomfit with the possibility of having to evaluate your own behavior while a stranger awaits your response to an innocent question or comment.
I have no doubts, that you have had some bad experiences with Christians, so have I. But let's compare your reaction to, oh say blacks. Every time a black opens his mouth to make a blackism comment from his perspective, I'll bet you don't jump down his throat for expressing himself from his background. Yet I'll also bet you've had some bad experiences with blacks. If you are black, you can reverse the roles. It makes no difference. Racism goes both ways. WHAT YOU HAVE STATED IN YOUR PUBLIC SERVICE IS JUST AS PREJUDICED AS RACISM BUT IS DIRECTED AGAINST CHRISTIANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are all the good Christians?

Well, the good, non-judmental Christians are like grandma's teeth - few and far apart! There is a great amount of fear-basing (that's nice for insecure and paranoid) going on in Yahoo. The sensitive questioners, who take the time to send an email and call you everythng but white because you have disagreed, are the most insensitive! Go figure.

It requires a great amount of personal security and spiritual stamina to allow others to be ecumenical. The reality is we are lacking critical thinkers. Be my guest, I respect the God of your understanding.

I find the belittling very offensive to, but aren't you being pretty belittling yourself. Just because the manner of some "christians" that are posting questions and answers is rude and unloving, doesn't mean that we respond in the same way. We are to be loving, even in response to their bashing.
In some ways I'm addicted to this program just because I find it interesting to see what other people think, but I'm often so discouraged by both believers and non-believers. You would expect that non-christians would be relentless in their attempts to put others down, but why is it that the christians are the ones that are refusing to edify each other?

Wait a minute! Aren't you judging the Christians here. In your post you said the only good Christians were non-judging. Do you have different rules for yourself? As for the quotes that say we are not supposed to witness. I'm afraid I'll have to call you on that. Please go ahead and educate me. Whether or not we are called to witness is not a gray area. But why do non-Christians try to advance their beliefs. There is certainly no "great commission" for them. And if there was they would not have any reason to believe it(if atheist).
See not a single quote.

Yes a lot of Christians have the Hellfire and brimstone attitude about leading people to Christ. But a lot of them don't. If you hadn't noticed, the atheists are belitting the Christians just as much as the Christians are them. And by the way, you're belitting Christians just by posting your statement that Christians are belitting everyone.

The problem is that you're judging Christians by the people on this site. This group is not exactly the upper echelon of humanity. Plus most of the goofballs here claiming to be Christians probably aren't.

I applaud your seemingly confidence in this conviction. You're wrong, but I applaud it. If you have questions about the true God and His difference between "man's religions" please go to www.carm.org. I trust that you will find all the answers that you're looking for. Much love! Professing to be wise, they became fools,"
