As a step-mother to a 12 year old, my opinion is she is too young. The very fact that you are asking this question shows you are not completely comfortable with the idea yourself. Thus, the answer is no, you should not.

Wouldn't it be nice if kids would be kids when they're young and then grow up when they're supposed to? I'll bet at 18 you'll have trouble getting her to pay her own bills! Sorry, I'm just so glad that this stage is over at our house.

Twelve is too young to be dating. Even group activities need a lot of supervision because of peer pressure but two alone is too much for a kid to handle.

Dear Mom - yes, I believe 12 years old is much too young to be dating anyone. This is the pre-teen stage and hormones are jumping like beans. Anything can happen. Now without being totally hard - have you met 'his parents'? Do you like the environment and spirit that they bring? You can allow your daughter and her friend ALONG WITH OTHERS their age to get together and play games at your home (board games, watch t.v., pop corn, listen to music - ALL SUPERVISED. Or, they can all meet at the local skating rink, bowling alley. ALL SUPERVISED. But dating - naw - too young. Try back at 17.

Allow him to come over to your house, with your supervision. They can watch a movie in the living room and maybe eat dinner with your family. A formal night out on the town is not reccomended. She's too young to be out alone like that. Besides, I'm sure you'd like to keep the grandma title as far down the road as possible.

2 young. She needs to worry about being a kid a while longer. There are too many kids having babies. Do not encourage that. I could not date until i was 16. I thought it sucked then, but now i know it was for my own good. When i was in the hospital having my baby there was a girl next to me having one that was 13. Scary!!!!!

Hmm, If they went out together as friends with a group I dont see why not, but as a "boyfriend" My husband would set the boy's **** on fire at the front door, that at least to us is way too young to even be WORRIED about that type of relationship...

Of course she is too young. I would not let her date until she is 17 and then after I approved of her choice of dates. It wont kill her. It will if you do it be one of the most loving things you do for her. She probably won't think so now . In ten years she will, and thank you for it.

Way way too young. She can be friends with him but dating should be for someone older.
