Attending a recent wedding, two of my relatives who live in different states, showed up wearing the exact same dress! It was not planned and neither of them knew what the other was wearing to the wedding.

What would you do or say to them?

great minds think alike

Depending on how well I knew them I would wonder at the probabilities of such a coincidence. Some people would laugh about it, and some would feel offended: to show up at an event wearing the same dress as someone else.

It could lead to a good laugh, another anecdote from the wedding, or ignore completely if I knew one of them is probably upset about it

I would not do anything and who cares that they wore the same kind of dress? Just as long as they didn't dress white, then I see no problem. I am actually surprised that doesn't happen more then it does. I would think it would be neat, actually, especially if they didn't plan it!

Greet both of them like you normally would, and tell both of them that they look very nice. Don't tell them that the other person has on the exact same thing. No need to embarrass them. They'll figure it out on their own, and if they care enough about it themselves, they'll change their clothes. If they don't care, then they won't.

I probably wouldn't bring it up unless they brought it up to me first - but if they did I'd try to say something about how the dress was so nice on both of them, it's no wonder they both really wanted it. Just something light and funny. I wouldn't want to say anything to make either of them feel awkward.

Smile and say "nice dress!" like you aren't wearing it yourself and are offering a compliment. Joke lightly about it and congratulate each other for having such fine taste. After all, great minds think alike, do they not?

Tell the two of them that great minds think alike and you love their dresses. I have a large family and it happens all the time.

well i dont think it shoudl be that big of a deal, unless they are enemies. if i saw that, i would go to the one i knew better and ask if they planned it, and if they said no i would be like wow what a coincidence. i dont really think its THAT big of a deal to be wearing the same dress, but i'd rather not be.

Wow, strange coincidence. But this means that the dress is the best - everyone wants to wear it!
