He acts like something is biting him, I faithfully use frontline plus, give bath regular, never seen flea. I do walk him 3 mi. per day and noticed some seed tics. I am washing it with soap, rinse, hydrogen peroxide, antibiotic cream x2 days. He is eating, does not act sick.

The green & creamy is infection. You should get him to a doctor ASAP to figure out what the problem is. Infections can go into the bone and blood and can require amputation, cause severe illness, and even death if not treated right away.

First off I would say get the dog to a vet. Second I would look into a few things. First what type of grass does the dog roll around and play in? Is it St. Augustine. IF so there is a mite in St. Augustine grass that some dogs are alergic to. Second I would evaluate the food you are feeding. Is it a brand that you buy at the grocery store? Is it a profesional food bought at the feed store or vets office. Some dogs get an alergy to the dyes in the food. Thirdly, have you recently introduced a new environmental eliment into the household. Like new carpet that still has the formaldahyde smell to it? It sounds liek the dog has an alergy or possibly mange. Both react the same in the skin. I have had two instances where an alergy was misdiagnosed as mange. After several hundred dollars in medications and vet bills, I changed the dogs diet and the condition began to clear some. I then moved the dog to the other yard that only had monkey grass and the allergy was almost gone. I began giving benadryl daily and it relieved the problem all together, but the dogs have to be on a daily alergy regiment and good food. Please don't think I am critisizing anyones choices in dog foods, I just have been through the gambit of brands and found that a professional food from the feed store has a lot less dyes and fillers and my dogs actually eat a lot less and have better muscle tone and have filled out.

Hey,
Your dog needs to go to the vet ASAP. It could be caused by a bite from a spider a small snake or it could be an infection from ticks, fleas, worms and/or dermatitis. Your vet will most likely send a sample of the scab tissue and the discharging pus like substance to a lab, the results of which will be available to you the next day. It is very important that you get this looked at ASAP, it may also cause infections in other areas and spread to your dogs internal vital organs, which then make the situatuion alot worse.

I hope it all goes well and your dog gets better soon,

It could be the ticks, or it could be mange.

I had 2 dogs that broke out with mange when they were seperated from each other for the first time (I think it was called scabies mange and stress induced the breakout).

I would call your vet and see if that could be it, because you will need another medicine regimen all together for that condition.

Best of luck!

Go to the vet. Stop using peroxide on the sore, as it tends to destroy tissue if used more than once or twice. Your dog needs antibiotic, and an e-collar to keep him from chewing on himself.

sounds like it might be mange. does it crust? If so, there are two treatments, one is a dip, the other is a longer course of medication. Other than that, he should see a vet because there is an infection..

Could have sensitive skin or something more serious like an allergy to ticks, shampoo, food, etc. Take him to your veterinarian to be checked. They'll probably want to do a 'skin scraping' to check for parasites on the skin.
