Yes, the body has the ability to turn all excess calories to fat, but protein is relatively "energy poor" so not much fat will come of excess protein intake. Protein is composed of amino acids, which are divided into two metabolic categories: ketogenic and glucogenic. Ketogenic ones can only be turned into fat but glucogenic ones can be turned into either glucose (sugar) or fat as the body may require at the given moment. Also, remember that protein is very hard to consume in its pure state, since essentially all protein foods also usually contain fat as well.

no because the body can't store protein. It is excreted in the urine as Urea. This doesn't mean that all meats are pure protein. A burger patty contains as much as 30% saturated fat. The only thing close enough to pure protein is egg white. If you eat much of it, nothing will turn into fat.

no! your body will not convert protein to fat! you can eat all the protein you want. To convert protein into fat, protein must first be broken down to amino acids and then transformed into glucose. Glucose is easily converted into fat. For amino acids to be converted into glucose high levels of the hormone glucagon is need, and low levels of the hormone insulin. This combination will only occur many hours after eating. It is very unlikely that at this time an abundance of free amino acids would be present to be turned into fat. Doctors are still researching this matter though. Great Question!

If you eat too much proteins it will not turn into fat. The body cannot store excess proteins. As you are supposed to know by now, the body breaks down proteins into amino acids- the building block. This excess amino acid is then taken to the liver where it is further broken down by a process called deamination, where the amino group of the amino acid is removed and then converted into urea which then turns to uric acid which is expelled from the body as urine. The remaining parts of the amino acid- the acid part, is then utilized by the body in other metabolic processes.

No, the protein cannot break down to create fat. It is composed of amino acids, and it can only be used by your body to create muscle (also amino acids). It does not convert into glucose, therefore cannot be stored as fat on your body. However, other foods you eat while eating high protein diets CAN be stored as fat, so watch your caloric intake because of that.

No it does not turn to fat. Eat mostly protein and you will become thin but will cause heart attack or stroke. See this site. Eat tons of raw fruit and you don't get much fat like with grapefruit diet. See this for more correct info with sources not just hearsay.

Yes, after your body gets enogh protein it turns t fat.
It has a lot of calories so excess protein is pretty fattening.
Most people do not get it.

Yes, many amino acids are glucogenic and will convert to glucose, which will raise your insulin (the fat-storing hormone) if you consume too much.
However, make sure you are getting *adequate* protein, you need it for your muscles.
