God, I pray not! This war going on in the middle east freaking sucks, but you have a point- it does have many elements needed to create a WWIII.

1) You've already got Pakistan and India a N Korea willing to use nuclear weapons. Isreal's desperate and will use it too if they think someone else is about to.

2) Iran and Syria back Lebanon's Hezbollah, who like Hamas vow absolute destruction of Israel.

3) US and Britain won't let Israel be wiped off the Earth- UN won't do anything, so they'll be forced to "go it alone"

4) Russia and China are developing nations who cling onto every market they can which the US doesn't dominate- unfortunately that means rogue states like N Korea, etc- so they might secretly be willing to at least fund a war if they need to keep contacts. If China doesn't start getting tough with NKorea, then the West will have less friendly ties to China, and it could get ugly. China is filled with even more national pride than US. I've seen it. Its scary.

5) You've got a couple countries who won't use diplomacy. Israel's already called this an act of war...and they all have big friends who won't want to do anything but will if they have to. Israel reacts stongly to a couple people being abducted, next Lebanon will be forced to support Hezbollah and retaliate back and it only leads to excalation. (which leads to nuclear war)

Not yet, but bet your *** we'll win. Israel strikes Syria, Iran strikes Israel, Israel nukes Iran.... Arab-Israeli war part what 3 or 4 now. They'll get whatever "quiet" support from us they need to survive. We'll clean up the mess with many world problems solved.

Look folks be it this situation or the war in Iraq, we are the the turning point in history of solving mid-east turmoil, one way or the other, for tall time. The possibility of the Arab Israeli war we see now is why Iran would want nuclear weapons (because Israel has them). It is a huge mistake for Iran or Syria to start crap right now before Iran can complete a bomb - just as Saddam invaded Kuwait in 91 a year before they could have completed a bomb. If you're dumb enough to throw rocks at a bear, you need to make sure your buddy has the gun loaded first. Big decisive things are happening in that region that will change the cultures there & the shape of the world.

Depends on which war your asking, in my opinion, No,not yet. Many nations are keeping out of the U.S. thing if you notice. It seems like a bunch of mini-wars. but at certian times almost ANY war can seem like a WW depending on where you are. War is heck to many. It causes suffering, but a lot of times it is a nessicary evil.
