Let us say the border is protected and Amnesty is given--We still have big problems-that can not continue. Does anyone have an answer to what should be done next?

Raise Minimum wage?
National health?
Schools? (we are low score world wide scale-look it up)
Beef up security?
More taxes (to cover cost )
Accordingly we are billions more in debt each year-billions-70% of Americans live 4 weekly checks away from bankruptcy.

What should be next? No debate on Amnesty-in this post it has been given already. And feel free to disagree with others.

I think that there will be a huge division between rich and poor in the next 10years in America. Middle class existence will be a thing of history. My America will be a third world country in the future, and our government will be more corrupt. I see no improvements in health care, education and career jobs for anyone. If you are not a professional, good luck to you. I am just expressing my opinion. I don't want to see our American people be like India with highly educated low wage earners. Bleak forecast.

Never raise minimum wage. Those payroll costs get passed down on to the working class. Businesses to not eat those costs, people!

National healthcare is an expensive and sad joke. Study Canada's socialist healthcare system. It doesn't work and wealthy Canadians are flying to the U.S. to get proper healthcare. So, once again, the working man would be screwed while the rich fly somewhere else to get good healthcare.

The public school system. This is the one true problem. We need to remove greedy Democrat politicians and union leaders from the equation. They're gathering cash, power, and votes on the backs of our children. It's the most shameful thing I've ever been witness to. Teach those children reading, writing, and arithmetic - and stop using them as political pawns!

More taxes my ***. You want a new program, cut out one of the millions of bloated programs that don't work now. Look at the money we throw at education. Is money the solution? Apparently not.

Saying 70% of Americans live 4 paychecks from bankruptcy is bunk. First of all, it's not 70%. Second of all, duh. If you have to go a month without any money, how would you pay your monthly bills? You can create bogus statistics all day long, but the reality is that life is good in the U.S., and no other country comes close. And the reason so many people live that close to bankruptcy is personal choice, not the fault of the government. It's because people rather buy a plasma TV than save money.

And amnesty is a joke, by the way. We've done it twice already before, so it obviously doesn't solve the problem. And it rewards people for breaking the law. If I go rob a bank, will you be so kind as to give me amnesty?

"Raise Minimum wage?" No. That only hurts the middle class further.

"National health?" No. Competition is always better. I don't want to wait months or a year even to see my doctor.

"Schools?" Homeschool if you care to give the very best.

"Beef up security?" Why? You said the border is already protected.

"More taxes (to cover cost )" More people to pay the taxes.

"Accordingly we are billions more in debt each year-billions-70% of Americans live 4 weekly checks away from bankruptcy." Start your own business and hire everyone else for minimum wage (which has not been raised.)

What should be next? Drink Tequila and chill in the hammock. (After all we Americans are all lazy azzes, right?)

Doesn't sound good? Guess we shouldn't give the amnesty, even if you don't want a debate on Amnesty in this post, I'm feeling free to disagree with you.

Well National health is not going to pass, so you can forget that. More taxes? I'm not liking that solution either. If and when these illegals become part of the system we will have a way to tax them all, so they will be a much larger contributor than they are now. Currently it's costing us 68 billion and we are collecting a mere fraction of that in taxes.
Americans need to quit being the instant gratification people and start saving their money.
Schools - See above on taxes from the now documented workeer. These folks also need to speak the language or forget the education.
Beef up security at the border is under way already.
Raising minimum wage will just put a heavier burden on the employer and they won't be able to hire as many. Money just doesn't grow on trees.

Yes to raising minimum wage.
National Health...I'm not sure on that issue.
Definitely beef up security on all borders.
A big shake up in our schools needs to happen, I personally think kids should be in school year round and go to school on Saturdays (just like Japanese school children) More money put into text books and teachers salaries. Also hand back the authority to teachers and principals.... kids today have NO respect for the teachers. Each school set a bar for each individual student and see to it that, that child reaches it. Reading, math etc. Supply tutors for those children that aren't meeting expectations.
For those that have received amnesty ..sorry but NO state aid at all.
I'm not for raising taxes, cut funding for the stupid stuff that the Government spends our money on. Make politicians take a pay cut. Also time to bring our money back into this country, how much is it that we give to the friggin UN and other countries and such?? Time to stop that.

I have no solutions for the people that are 70% in debt. I have some ideas on how to educate but not how to deal with the already existing problem.....

I don't want amnesty.I think they should pay too.Just like all the other legal immigrants. But why can't it be easier for illegals that have proof of living here for atleast 5yrs or so?Right now they can't get legal unless they have a citizen petition for them.Thats hard for some that are married to other illegals and who aren't personally connected to any citizens.Let them pay the fines and fill out the paper work.Don't let no more in after that if they think we have enough people here.

We raised minimun wage in North Carolina yesterday, now it's $ 6.50 an hour. That might still sound bad but it was only $5.15 an hour.

As for all the other things....I don't know.Good question.

Well, the maximum amount to qualify for welfare would go up because with all the tax increases, the middle class won't be able to even survive with out state assistance.

I dont think we should raise min wage, or lower testing scores, we have to give children high goals. We need to allow more immigrants in legally, not worry so much about their poverty levels, immigrants should not be allowed foodstamps. Only citizens. (just like it is now, by the way) In short, immigrants can take care of themselves. They do now.

It's going to get harder for everyone to make ends meet, get good paying jobs, and taxes WILL go up to pay for everything. There will be no middle class to pay these taxes, so who will be paying them?
