Very much so. It's one of those things that you can't even imagine until you've really been in love. I went through a relationship where I didn't even know for sure that I was "in love". But when it ended, I was so devastated that I developed an eating disorder and went into total depression. I realized that I really did love this man and, yes, it did hurt to lose him. But no type of love can compare to the love of a mother for her children. I love my kids so much that I worry about them constantly. It hurts to even look at photos of them as babies, I miss those times so much and realize that as they get older they're drifting further away from my grasp. But I try to enjoy every day realizing how fortunate I am to have them. So love hurts a great deal, but life would be meaningless without it.

It can. But that doesn't mean that a relationship that has some hurt in it is one that involves love.
Life has ups and downs. Sharing that with someone you care about is a great thing and making compromises is a part of that. Still, the compromises shouldn't be ones that are burdensome to you or not worth it to you. Also, you better not be talking about physical hurt because that is something to run from as fast as you can. Don't even think of that as love.

Yes love hurts but love over comes all if 2 people work at it but when 1 person is working for love and 1 person is throwing love away thats when it hurts the worst.

Yes love does hurt.Especially if u really think u love him and he does something to break your heart and u think u can neva 4give him.I should kno cuz it happened to me.So if u r goin to give your heart to someone and u love him and u think that he feels the same way,just make sure that he's worth it.Every boy u date will somehow break your heart.U will be so in love that u won't notice until the last minute.And by that time u will wish that u neva would have ignored the fact that he was doin it all along.GO WITH YOUR HEART BUT THE BEST THING TO DO IZ GO WITH YOUR INSTINCTS.I WENT WITH MY HEART AND IT SENT ME TO HEARTBREAK,MAYBE INSTINCT WOULD HAVE SENT ME TO SOMEWHERE BETTER THAN THIS PAIN.He did it 3 months ago and im still not over it

The first woman I ever told "I love you" too died unexpectedly almost 4 months ago. It still hurts. Yet, by talking to her family and the support they have given me, I can still feel how much she loved me just by the stories they tell me about her, talking about me.The pain may never go away, but neither will the love. All I can do is to try and love someone else and help ease the pain. I know that she would want me to go on.

I think a better question would be can love hurt? And yes it can if you fall for the wrong person. But when you are in love, no it doesn't hurt. You feel happy all the time and even pessimistic people get happy when they first fall in love.

Yes, but maybe I can be unrealistic...I'm a hopeless romantic, and I feel that everyone can find that one person who's love wouldn't hurt you....it would be real and true----Love shouldn't hurt...love should be amazing and wonderful....if it isn't, maybe it's not the truest love.
Do I have proof of this? No, I've come to know that love hurts, but I believe that you can have love where it doesn't hurt, it's just a faith I have.

Yeah it hurts, But trust me u will enjoy that pain too , if you are in love but most of the time people are not in love and it will hurt the ego of a person..so if you want to know whether ur love is true or not...it is easy..If Ego hurts means NO LOVE but if you are enjoying the pain of love...you are in true Love

Real love does not hurt when it is on both sides but when you love someone and they don't love you back then yes it can hurt. It is always best to have love with someone who loves you. One sided love never turns out for the best.

Only if you let it. To me, love takes a long time to achieve. If you don't let someone close enough to you, then they can never be close enough to hurt you. When you become so close to another, you take the risk of letting yourself get hurt. Hopefully the one you love can never hurt you.. because where would the love be that he has for you. You need to be able to share the love equally.
