We poop all over the dam earth in our own drinking water then we get it cleaned WHAT about all the animals they dont have it cleaned they gotta drink our gross **** look how dam gross we all are.

Pigeons are no diff than a parrot shur those birds can speak but so what pigeons can be homed trained and can live longer than a cat can or will ever.

Pigeons are great birds and should have all the love like parrots or finches do.

If dogs and cats where all over and parrots then we would call them a pest too woulden't we pfftt some ppl have no HEART for nature.

When you move away from nature your heart becomes hard.

Ok now it's time to POP your bubble I have worked on commercial roofs for 20 years and the first thing you said wrong is that they don't spread diseases well guess what they poop in the same over hang that they live in that's right they sleep in their own toilet and there feathers and poop festering with bacteria may not make them sick but all of my roofers are required by law to wear respirators FOR THERE OWN HEALTH! Now I know you love your little concrete vultures but the truth is this in some cities they have falcons on there roofs to kill those nasty infected creatures. Is there a chance you could be wrong about them or are 6 billion people wrong and your uneducated butt is right. OH NO WAY .......NO WAY ARE YOU RIGHT! But I will say this if you want to I will personally take you to LA and let you have all however many millions of those skanky birds you want.......FOR FREE!

Try answering the question with a correct answer little girl. (note: nothing to do with this question).

However you will notice that some people answer seriously, some funnily, some stupidly, some abusively..... I consider your answer to my question abusively as you used the terminology "YOU STUPID IDIOT". .

I must admit I have eaten both of these birds (ducks & pigeons to you that do not know what is happening here) however, I answered only in jest!

If you can put your hand on your heart and honestly say you have never eaten meat of any shape or form, or perhaps I could go as far as saying plants (were are all living creatures after all) then I am sorry I have offended you.

However if you have contradicted yourself and you do eat meat, then maybe you ought to have thought about that before getting abusive.

As far as I am concerned this is the end of the matter.

I like pigeons too....I like all birds...I am an ornithologist...but I am afraid that you are wrong about pigeons not causing disease. I know some people get overly paranoid about bird flu and such and may give pigeons a bad rep...but here are the facts:

Histoplasmosis
Histoplasmosis is a disease caused by a fungus, which grows in pigeon droppings. It also grows in soils and is found throughout the world. When cleaning droppings a person may breathe in some of the fungus, which in cases of high exposure can cause infection. Common activities, such as cleaning off windowsills, will not result in high exposures.

Symptoms of histoplasmosis begin to appear about 10 days after initial infection and include fatigue, fever, and chest pains. Most people, however, do not show any symptoms. Those with compromised immune systems such as cancer patients or people living with HIV/AIDS are generally more at risk of developing histoplasmosis. The disease cannot be transmitted from person to person.

Cryptococcosis
Cryptococcosis is another fungal disease associated with pigeon droppings and also grows in soils throughout the world. It is very unlikely that healthy people will become infected even at high levels of exposure. A major risk factor for infection is a compromised immune system. According to the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), nearly 85 percent of cryptococcosis patients are HIV-positive.

Psittacosis
Psittacosis (also known as ornithosis or parrot fever) is a rare infectious disease that mainly affects parrots and parrot-like birds such as cockatiels, and parakeets, but may also affect other birds, such as pigeons. When bird droppings dry and become airborne people may inhale them and get sick.

In humans, this bacterial disease is characterized by: fatigue, fever, headache, rash, chills, and sometimes pneumonia. Symptoms develop about 10 days after exposure. Psittacosis can be treated with a common antibiotic.

Since 1996, fewer than 50 confirmed cases were reported in the United States annually. In New York City, psittacosis is very rare with less than one human case identified each year. According to the CDC, about 70% of infected people had contact with infected pet birds. Those at greatest risk include bird owners, pet shop employees, veterinarians, and people with compromised immune systems. No person-to-person cases have ever been reported.

i am not sure why people are stupid about pigeons. I have nothing to say bad about them i just think that they can be like seagulls they are messy and mess all over the place. Pigeons are very smart birds. Like the ones that can care a note(homing pigeons) and come back home after delivering it.

tru that and some kids and people be chasing the birds. that makes me mad.
they dont even bother nobody all they do is try to live day by day just like us. and plus whoever eat pigeons have some serious problems and instead of barfing on them i'll cook them and feed them to tigers. and no they are not rats with wings there just cute lil birds.
and most of the time when i'm walking to my job and i see pigeons they make me smile seeing the way they walk is so cute.

You are absolutelt right I hear you. Pigeons make great pets the pet store I worked at sold them and they wouldnt bite you like parrots would, they would coo softly tp tou and love to be held, and never ever bit you even if they didnt know you.

They are so smart, I know people who have taught their pigeons to retrieve items, and to fly to a place on cue.

I've never seen an aggressive pigeon, wild ones even take food from your hands.

I actually hope to breed pigeons, doves, toucans, hornbills, and turacos one day.

I agree with you and believe you on everything you said.

you wan to email me my email is fatwhale90@yahoo.com

I wish you the best of Luck with taking care of your injured birds, your doing something for a good cause.

Umm.... I'm not sure if you realize that with your poor grammar, it is hard for people to take you seriously, and for you to tell us to go to school is not the right way to go about your rant.
