It's about time for a revolution for the secular, half of Iran is young people! I believe that is already happening on a small scale, the aide of Iran's government to Hezbollah, and Hamas. Who really thinks it will help for the US to get involved in that? When the US govt fights abroad, people abroad get pissed, and the future threats increase 20-fold.
Assisting in a people's revolution is so unlike our govt, but if only a backlash of the people could bring a quality of life to Iran again, that would limelight the horrors of groups like Hezbollah, and Hamas!

Not militarily......ok not DIRECT militarily. They cannot afford to be un-allied against the superpowers.
Here is my prediction:
Iran will make threats against pretty much all the western powers. The western powers will talk for a bit to build pressure then give Iran a minor prize. Iran will take it but complain and life will go on until Iran gets another chance to "milk the cow".
Nothing of really any historical importance will happen until one of the following occurs:
1. Some idiot blows of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem
2. Taiwan gets serious about Independence from China
3. North Korea invades South Korea (Again.....)
4. India vs. Pakistan (The fight we have all been waiting for)
5. Jesus becomes a new hope, then strikes back, then finally returns. (This will spark rumors of a prequel trilogy.)
6. Am I forgetting one?.....WTH Somehow the Canadians will kill us all just like they are planning......

I think Iran is already funding Hezbollah and Hamas. A few years ago, President Bush called Iraq, Iran and North Korea the axis of evil in this world. He has already taken action against Iraq. If we could wrap it up there like in Afghanistan, I think Iran should be next. They have less military than Iraq had. They are even more evil and even more of a threat to the global village.

US will never go to a war against Iran for the below reasons:
1- Iran has done nothing against USA ever so why USA should go to a war against Iran?
2- USA needs Iran against the wealthy Arabs in the region. As you may know Iran is the only non- Arabic Islamic Nation in that region
3- Iran is very powerful and is a regional super power. Going to war against Iran will cost a lot of money and will create the 3rd world war so USA is not willing to create such problem as it doesn't want to do such thing against China. Yes if it was a weak nation like Iraq or panama , USA would go in, invade and finish them off. I remind you that the same situation even worse took place back in 80's. Iran was the winner of that conflict and all USA did was to make a movie starring by Chuck Norris fantasizing a win over Ayatollahs and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
4- Geographically and strategically, Iran is not an easy target for USA. Iran is a mountainous country and Iranians can fight in the mountains very good. Such war will take years to finish.
5- USA doesn't have the capital to face Iran with an army
6- USA is already in deep problems in Iraq with more than 2000 casualties
7- USA will never attack Iran. USA knows Iran as its another state. If USA attack, Iranian government will murder pro- American prisoners and intellectuals in Iran.
8- USA knows that the majority of the Iranians dislike Islam and the government. USA knows attacking Iran will create an unnecessary hatred against Americans in Iran who are already loved in Iran.
9- USA will never attack Iran because Russians and China is very depended on Iran for Oils and other products.
10- USA will never attack Iran because it will create international sympathy for a dictatorship which is already facing internal political battle between reformists who are supported by the West and hardliners .
11- And in the end, International community will try to topple Iranian theocracy by political strategies exactly what USA did to Russia. Let's hope for the best of Iranian people, Mid- East and International community. Less wars and more politics is needed now!

Iran likes being able to fight their "jihad" against the Jews through proxies on the front lines with Israel, most nobably the Hezbollah cult based in Lebanon.

Not a chance Iran will attempt to militarily come to their aid. They would have to come through Iraq to do it--that would be tough given the occupaton of Iraq. The Iranian Air Force? HA! Navy? HA!
The only aid Iran can provide is rhetoric and media.

HELLO?
Israel was ATTACKED BY 7 COUNTRIES IN 1 DAY during the 7 days war in the '60's and kicked their *sses in (yes) 7 days. So I seriously DOUBT they'd lose now. Especially since Lebanon doesn't even have a real army and Jordan has a peace agreement with them.

Well, to answer your first question, I don't know if Iran will come to their aide, it is likely, but hard to say right now. To answer your second question, No, i don't think the U.S. should get involved we're too far stretched as it is, military wise.

No Israel has between 300 & 400 Nukes, and the U.S.a. thousands. Iran has yet to develop one. Although they are close to doing so.
They are fanatic, insane, but not suicidal.
