Teachers care about their pupils. While you may be happy now, with a job and benefits, in 10 years time when you are in the same job with the same pay, you may wish you had considered getting more qualifications to help you support the lifestyle you would like (plus maybe a family!). As others have mentioned, dropping out will be more likely to prevent you making progress in life to do the things YOU would like. Of course, you may have chosen a path that suits you better - maybe you will return to study when you are ready and maybe more mature, but statistically, drop-outs do much worse in life.

In today's world, you cannot have decent job, career, or life without a high school diploma or college degree. When you have a high school diploma and/ or a college degree or some sort of technical training, the whole world opens up to you believe me. Since I have had my high school degree and now I am getting my associate degree I can become a teacher, a librarian, a journalist, a linguist, a poet, a writer, and so on. People respect a person with an education and a degree. People look at you with pride. Without an education, you are looked at as a low life or scum. That is how my family sees it. Everyone in my family has graduated high school and has gone to college or has graduated college. If you were to drop out people would call you a loser and an idiot.

Because people who stay in school typically have a better future than those that drop out. You are probably the exception to the rule, having a job with benefits.

Yes, you can be a great success without finishing school, but your teacher just cared about you. Also, most people don't realize until later in life that a good education can only enrich your life in a many ways. I'm glad you're doing well and that you don't define "success" the way a lot of people mistakenly do, but be careful not to make the mistake of underestimating the value of an education.
(There are plenty of educated people in the world who are not worth a @#&$ as people, so of course, it's not the answer to everything.)

the teachers want to ensure that their student finish their studies, to land a better job, earn more, and have a brighter future. In the third world country where I come from, it's a privilege to be able to study...one has to have enough money to put their children to school (even the public ones) ... Education is the only assurance for most of them to uplift their status in life and eventually leave the country to give the rest of their family some comforts in life...its a vicious cycle i tell you...some children of the first world countries dont understand this as they have a right to education, and i dont blame them for it ... they can opt to leave school whenever they want... As for you, I think you're still young and you can still go back to school if you want, gain some skills and better yourself and eventually when you have your own family you will realize that there could be more opportunities for you when you are educated... You are lucky to have a teacher who is concerned about your future...maybe she saw a potential that you could be somebody someday...

Because we know that so many employers won't hire anyone without a diploma and many still won't with a GED. We don't want you to become a drain on society, we want you to have a good life.
Just because you have a job now, what happens if you lose this one? How difficult will it be to find another one?

Because it is stupid to drop out. People will judge you as a quiter, and then if/when you go/get your GED, people still think that, you are better off just staying in and suffering (but I really do understand)

As much as you like dropping out, your future happiness has been severely comprimised. Without as diploma, you cap your salary at a very low number. You might not see it that way. Sad.

Because dropping out is stupid, it's proven that you can make more money with a diploma and beyond....I'd never hire anyone who didn't graduate highschool, it shows lack of character.
