i feel like i'm a believer in fate. "whatever will be will be" ya know. but sometimes i get caught up in the whole good luck/bad luck thing. can a person believe in both? b/c if one believes that everything happens exactly when it's supposed to, all the time, does that really leave space to believe in "luck"?

There is a BIG difference between fate and preordained futures. If everything was preordained then there is no incentive to try anything, as all outcomes are already written in stone. There would also be no free will, the basis for most religions.

Fate is a destination or an end. How you get to your fate is your free will. The means and the end. Yes, you can believe in fate and luck.

The best advice I have ever received was "With knowledge and skill, a person can go far; but with luck, the sky is the limit!"

yeah, technically. fate and luck can happen at the same time. what happens, happens. but fate can change. in a second. your fate can be lucky, it all depends. luck and faith are usually shortly followed by hope. maybe your supposed to hope to have good luck with your fate. it just depends on your outlook of life. so to answer you question, yes, you can believe in both, or even all three.
