Hi,

I would specifically target your stomach, focus on that area through exercise. It would also help changing your diet. As we age our metabolism slows down & we seems to retain more wait in our midsection.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose. eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism) 5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day 8 glasses of water have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy have protein (soy and milk products, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism) dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily. ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

The only way my research has found is to reduce calories (or burn more than you store) AND increase activity. One or the other does not work to keep it off. Be patient. Slow reduction will help keep it off longer.
For the exercise part, combination of cardio and weight training keeps it interesting; alternate the days. Cardio: start simple, walking, curb-stepping or step-stepping, important thing is increase heart rate. Find your target heart rate (80-120 beats/minute, depending on your current condition) and maintain it (start for ten minutes at a time and work up to 20-30).

Step up your cardio workouts! Also cut down on your fatty carbs, I hear this is the main trouble for people who are relatively thin everywhere BUT in the stoach & midsection. I hope this helps, Good Luck!

Use a vegetable bean dip like hummus instead of ranch dressing or even a fatty cream-based dip.
