Yes, of course. Christian means Christ like. To be Christ like we must think, feel and live like Christ. Christians love, they do not hate. We love all people unconditionally, we hate their sins but love the people. God made us all. We are all Brothers & Sisters in Christ. We may be disappointed with our brothers & sisters, but we can still love them.

I am one of those agnostic people you're talking about. I have a few Christian friends and one real close "girlfriend" who is a Christian. These people don't really express any sort of sorrow towards me. I'm certain I'll never really know exactly what they are thinking. But in the same respect, I do feel a bit sorry that they have to lead their lives serving an imaginary deity. It's their life though, they can believe what every they want. One more thought though. I do feel like some of my family members look down on me for not believing. I didn't tell my dad in person but I heard his jaw hit the floor when he found out. My mom was extremely disappointed when I told her.
To answer your question, save your heart for whom it would matter. All of us who made are decision about who Christ was and how there isn't a god, don't need sorrow.

I was raised without religon in my life but went to different churches with my friends in school because it was the only way that thier parents would let me spend the night.......Those experiences where some of the most horrible in my life, it made me realize that religous people are no better and no worce then anyone else and just for even judging someone or thinking that you are better makes you a sad person who needs to take a look at themself. I am truley sorry that you feel there are people that need help just because they dont think like you. I am a very happy person whos life is filled with loving family and friends, my children are healthy and we are not starving....we do not use drugs and our love is not based on or around a church......now in the years of my life I have came to believe there is a higher spirit but I do not feel the need to go to a man made building to praise it......if God made anything it was nature, thats where I go to find my piece of mind with myself and my kids, not a man made building.....maybe you should start worring about some other things that really matter. Good Queastion thou !!!!

what's hard about it is to find the best way for a non-believer to hear the truth. Unfortunately some Christians think they can just cram the bible down someone's throat and that is just not the way to go about it.
It's like the saying that you can lead a horse to water. Ultimately YOU have to be the one to truly ask Christ into your own life, and mean it. We have a role as Christians to show others that we have something different. That when we became Christians suddenly something took its place at the very top of our list of priorities and bumped EVERYTHING down a notch.

look, you may not *intend* to offend anybody, but it does. I'm not trying to be an asshat or anything, but the way you phrase that is very condescending. You wouldn't "feel sorry" for someone you considered your equal, that's called pity. And when you pity someone, especially someone who doesn't feel they deserve it, it's likely to cause offense. I don't believe in the Christian god. Would you feel offended if I said I felt sorry for you because you were locked into a shortsighted religious dogma which is full of inaccuracies and contradictions? That I don't know if you can ever truly experience love because you are imposed into seeing it through a filter which considers the carnal a sin? That I feel bad because you are given an impossibly high list of standards which you are supposed to adhere and if you fail in them you are encouraged to feel guilty but if you succeed in them you are miserable?

Ummm, OK... I feel sorry for all you so called christians out there! Get a life! How many times have I been cut off in traffic and when I honk at the person, I get the finger! But that's OK, because they have the christian fish emblem on the back of the car! Then my best friends wife who slept with 3 " christian " married men from the church that they go to! But its OK, god will for will forgive them on Sunday! As you see, I have no faith in ALL you christians! Well, maybe I should pray about it? Then god will forgive me for writing this... Ummm, NO

It's nearly impossible to convey your opinion on this site without pissing somebody off. That's especially true for those die hard conservatives. But, you did a question as rude as that quite politely, so I will answer. As someone who believes in an unafilliated higher power and former Jew, I think that everybody is going to the same place in the end, and whether you choose to believe or not will only affect how you live. Religion gives you identity and a community to fall back on, something atheists are missing out on.
I believe the true afterlife is being remembered for your actions past your death.

You condescend and then turn around and say you're not trying to offend. Let me pull out all the stops for you.
You're playing a very popular angle. Throwing insults, poorly masked as concern, at everyone who doesn't follow your brand of dogma. But it's a child's game and it only works on children. Now if you're just a kid, I apologize for my brazen condemnation of your idiocy. Kids often say stupid things. You'll grow out of it. But if you're an adult, well, keep reading.........
Your statement shows quite clearly that you live a sheltered life. You're uneducated and have no understanding of the world around you. Because you are of inferior wit, you have no respect for other beliefs. You are spiritually crippled.
Get to work on your own soul. It needs a lot. The rest of us are doing just fine without your tacit judgment and heartfelt sorrow.

Nope, I don't feel that way at all. God loves them just the same as she loves the rest of us. If they are good enough for God they are good enough for me. God sends the sun to shine each day on believers and nonbelievers alike, so we are all in the light weather we know it or not.
Seems like you could only feel that way if you thought God was a judgmental and punishing type of God. Your not one of those confused people are you?
Trusting that God loves all of us all of the time is having perfect faith in God.
Any other idea is having only partial faith in God.
Love and blessings.

yes i do. im a maronite catholic (christian) and i do feel sorry but the best thing is just to pray for them and hope for the best.
if they were taught wrong or they grew up like that or didnt know any better, God will look at these things and consider it. God is fair and will look at everything before deciding. We shouldn't judge other people just stay strong in our faith and never stop praying and be good and follow the commandments, etc. and you will make it to heaven. pray for others that they will too.
once again i do feel sorry- but prayer helps!!
mwa God Bless

how is "feeling sorry" different from"looking down" on someone. You are a fraud. If you were truly in the light, you would have that unconditional love, respect, tolerance, and understanding of all of your brothers and sisters. Jesus included everyone and pitied no one. If so-called christians acted more like christ, maybe there wouldn't be so much intolerance and distrust, don't you think?
