You need to understand that most of what Christ stood for and said has been destroyed by organized religion, and that Satan-like Christians are in control spreading fear and guilt in order to stay important.

Fundamentalist is defined as "One who believes in the literal interpretation and the infallibility of the Bible." I don't think that is "evil", (even if my ex-husband does use it as an insult.) I do know some people who go overboard with it to the point of turning people against all Christians. But it is wrong to assume that all people of any group are "evil", or to blame organized religion for the mistakes of a few people whose only mistake is in feeling so strongly about their belief that they want everyone to feel the way they do about it.

I think any belief system which requires obedience on pain of eternal torment, is evil. I think anything which can be used by a few to control the masses is evil. I think any organization which teaches that "the minister / pope / president is right every time" is evil.

This is far too broad of a question.
But, are non-christian based fundamentalists evil?
Also, are you attempting to state that all christian organized religions are evil?

These people meant well. They however went so far in their belief that they forgot that the purpose of Christianity was to love thy neighbor not look down on them and smite them.
They don't take any time to make things better.
They want to look down on people and condemn them but they were too busy doing this to help those that need it. Not because they are Christian, or because they are of the same skin as themselves, but because these people need it

I would not say that they were evil, but it is in my experience that most christian fundamentalists are very hypocritical. I want to know how they can have this "god loves everyone" attitude but strongly protests gay people.

Time to throw in the classic Proverbs 26:4 verse again.

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

Yes, they are king james onlyist, faith onlyist, fancy sunday clothes onlyists, anti catholic, etc. And the worst part is that they have this mentality "its us against the rest of christianity". Also they read strictly the roman catholic canon of biblical books, they don't even read the early church writings or uncanonized gospels, epistles, acts, apocalypses etc.
