People like people similar to them. An extrovert is very good at small talk whereas an introvert isnt. Hence extroverts sometimes feel as if introverts are being rude or don't want to mingle. This is obviously not true. They are just short of words and don't have socialising skills as others.

I think they are trying to draw them out. Sometimes people think if you can just get a shy person to start talking or participating, they will feel comfortable and participate willingly.

Yeah, quiet people are often believed to be stuck up or anti-social. I have been accused of that a lot. I can be very extroverted at times, but more often than not, I'm very quiet and have to get comfortable in the situation. Then again, a good friend says that I just know I'm better than everyone else and don't feel a need to be bothered by them! Who knows!

I am very shy as well, and i have been called the b**** and so on. I think it is just because they don't know who we really are because my friends and I have an awesome time together it just takes time for me to get to know people. So what were not obnoxious, I hate being shy but there are some upsides, such as you know who you really are and the people who make you uncomfortable we can realize that we dont want to be around those people and as others are talking and we are just sitting back being quiet we can observe what other people are all about.

It's their loss if they don't. I'm not a shy or quiet person but it's been my experience that shy and quiet people have truly fabulous and wonderful personalities when you take the time to let them be themselves.

Because they dont understand you and wont take the chance to
get to know you. My ex husband is shy and quiet, everyone thaught he was always moody. He was just never loud and boisterous.

It's the quiet ones you gotta watch out for!

Or so they say. I too am told that my shyness is interpreted as being anti-social or stuck up.

Introverted persons are less expressive. It is not their fault rather it is their individuality. Normal person should try to understand them in a positive approach.
